In the second dhyana, because there is no investigation, there is no correct investigation. In the third and fourth dhyanas, it is said that apart from joy and investigation. Because of abandoning attachment to joy from it, joy is not a limb of perfect enlightenment, and because there is no investigation, there is also no correct investigation. Even in meditative absorption, it is said that only those two are excluded, that is, joy and correct investigation are excluded, because they are not there. In those two, there is no path of non-outflow, because in the desire realm and the peak of existence, because there is no sequential abiding and it is not clear, there is no path of non-outflow. Others say that because it is the peak of existence, there is no path of non-outflow there. The most purified thing is morality itself, which is pure morality, and that is also morality without outflows. What is called faith in the Dharma through knowledge is faith after understanding. One should understand the Buddha and the Dharma in the same way. If one directly realizes suffering, its origin, and its cessation, then it will be explained in detail. From which Dharma? Only from suffering and so on. How? These are merely suffering and so on. If one is convinced that there are no sentient beings in this, then that is faith in the Dharma through knowledge. The morality that pleases the noble ones is the nature of right speech, the limit of action, and livelihood, and one obtains faith through knowledge. Many dharmas such as virtue have been taught, but in refuge, only nirvana is taught as the Dharma, so doubts arise, so here it is asked, what do you consider to be the Dharma? In the three truths of Dharma and so on, here, those who have faith through knowledge, because they are the nature of Buddhahood, are the nature of faith, therefore, whoever believes in the dharmas of suffering and so on, should know that only suffering, its origin, and its cessation are the Dharma. What is called the path of solitary Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, why is the Dharma of the path of the Buddha and Sangha not taught? Because the nature of the path of the Buddha and Sangha is established, therefore those

If faith arises from understanding, it is faith arising from understanding of the Buddha and the Sangha, not faith arising from understanding of the Dharma. Therefore, if all four truths are fully realized, one can obtain faith after understanding the Dharma. The reason for saying this is that the three truths and one aspect of the truth of the path, as previously stated, are the Dharma. Regarding "by the difference of the basis of faith": Through the difference of the objects of faith, etc., faith is divided into three types, plus the faith after understanding of discipline, there are four types. The so-called "trusting after realizing the truths as they are is faith after understanding" means that wisdom can realize as it is, and faith produces trust. Doesn't the sutra say, "Faith after understanding arises in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and the discipline that the noble ones delight in" in that order? Why is the order reversed in the Dharma discourse? Therefore, to clarify "how," it is explained in detail. And why is this manifested in this way? Therefore, it is said, "Because it is like a doctor, a mature person, and a sick attendant," the patient's separation from illness is seen from the doctor, and knowing the scriptures themselves and knowing that medicine must be prescribed, so first have faith in the doctor. After that, there is faith in the medicine, and then there is faith in the sick attendant, similarly, here, the Bhagavan is like a doctor, because the sutra says, "The doctor is the supreme one who takes away suffering." The Dharma is medicine, because the Dharma is what can be revealed, and by eliminating the disease of afflictions, one obtains freedom from disease. It is like medicine. The Sangha is like a sick attendant, in order to obtain the freedom from disease of Nirvana, they serve each other by admonishing and following the teachings. Regarding "because it is done by a pure mind": A completely pure mind is towards the Buddha, etc. In order to show that the complete purity of discipline is also done by this, it is declared in the last fourth and finally shown. This is called such a completely pure practice, others read it as "completely entered," thus completely entered.
