In that cause, it is not cold, and where there is a cause of warmth, it is not called warm. That is the Vipaka fruit, which refers to what exists in the continuum of sentient beings. This is the Nisyananda fruit, which refers to external objects, so it is not the Vipaka fruit. There, it arises through action, and in detail, the action of killing will cause one to experience unbearable suffering in hell. When the act of killing is performed, the beings to be killed will feel great suffering. Here, in reality, it leads to a short life, just as the life of the being to be killed is taken away, so it is the same here. The actual path of karma is only a single moment. Even so, since there is no feeling of suffering, it is reasonable to say "it is in reality" here. Someone says, if there it arises through action, and here it arises through actual action, then why is it said like this: "If one constantly engages in killing, becomes accustomed to it, and does it many times, one will be born in hell"? They think that the meaning of the sutra is "through actual killing," so they ask like that. Because the retinue is mentioned, it is said that killing is the actual action. Its retinue is the action, and by attaching killing to that action, it is explained in detail like this: "Through killing." "Not deviating from these two" refers to the Vipaka fruit and the Adhipati fruit. What exists in one's own continuum is the Vipaka fruit, and what exists in others is the Adhipati fruit. Because of the difference in similarity, it is said like that. It is only because of the difference in explaining a satisfactory life and lacking enjoyment, etc., that it is said like this: "Even if one shares the same fate with people like this among a hundred people, killing will lead to a short life, and taking what is not given will lead to a lack of enjoyment," this is just a detailed explanation. For this, the cause and effect are the same. Similarly, for virtues too...

The fruit that corresponds to the cause is the fruit of complete ripening, and the distinction of similarity that does not deviate from the fruit of the lord. As it is said, "If one is born among hundreds in this way with the same fortune as humans, then by abandoning killing, one will become long-lived." It is only said that it should be explained in detail. Others should also be combined in the same way. It is said that "taking what is not given causes suffering to the owner of the property, impoverishes them with enjoyment, and makes them without splendor." Therefore, this causes suffering, loss of enjoyment, and because it makes them without splendor, the result turns into three types. How does it make one without splendor? It is said that by destroying its cause, it impoverishes them with enjoyment, therefore harming them. Therefore, taking what is not given will cause hail and rain to increase, because it harms their splendor. Similarly, engaging in sexual relations with another's woman causes suffering to others, and by uniting the wife with the enemy, it is a lack of splendor that is definitely said to be with splendor in the world. Therefore, it is said that engaging in sexual misconduct will be defiled by dust. Similarly, others should also be combined, this is one category. One should turn away from all that is unwholesome and combine it. How is it? It is said that abandoning taking what is not given, practicing it completely, and those who are accustomed to it, doing it repeatedly, will be born among the gods. If one is born among hundreds in this way with the same fortune as humans, then one will not be lacking in enjoyment. Similarly, abandoning sexual misconduct, relying on it completely, and being accustomed to it, as it is said in detail, until one is born with the same fortune as humans, then one will receive less slander. Combine everything in this way. The term "those with various views" refers to those who have views of wonders, auspiciousness, dates, moments, stars, and so on. The term "living dependent on others" means relying on alms.

Because of youth. The life of a monk who depends on others for sustenance is false, flattering, biased, measured by gain, wanting to gain by gain, and therefore goes astray, those ways of life are difficult to practice. The "Discipline Aggregate Sutra" refers to the chapter called "Discipline Aggregate," in which the third staff says: Some ascetics or Brahmins enjoy the offerings given by devotees, watching various performances such as: elephant fights, horse fights, chariot fights, foot fights, stick fights, fist fights, strength contests, bull fights, buffalo fights, goat fights, sheep fights, poultry fights, quail fights, pig fights, women fights, men fights, youth fights, maiden fights, enemies fighting from within, wrestling, the top of the banner, armies and assemblies of armies, and watching the display of armies, they strive and abide in this, or experience grand gatherings. Monks abandon the effort to watch such various performances. The third staff says: Some ascetics or Brahmins enjoy the offerings given by devotees, listening to various sounds such as: the sound of elephants, the sound of chariots, the sound of infantry, the sound of conches, the sound of large drums, the sound of arambhava drums, the sound of dancing, the sound of songs, the sound of cymbals, the sound of clapping, the sound of pottery, they strive and abide in this. Some want to listen to various poetic texts, as well as words related to worldly benefits and the narration of various texts. Monks abandon the effort to listen to such various sounds. Like this and so on have been told. Because of fully enjoying the wrong realm, it means because of fully enjoying the unreal realm. What are the five fruits mentioned above, referring to the lord's fruit and
