Among the gods, there is no sorrow but wisdom. Therefore, it is only among humans and in the three continents that it can be drawn forth, and not from elsewhere. The work entitled "A Treatise on Explaining the Order of Manifest Realization" begins with "Possessing discipline, listening, and contemplation, one should diligently engage in meditation." In it, the order that accords with the decisive aspect, as well as that which accords with the aspect of liberation, have been arranged sequentially. The phrase "the forbearance of dharma is without outflows" means that even those who accord with the decisive aspect have forbearance towards the dharma, and therefore it should be distinguished by a similar cause. That whose similar cause is knowing the dharma is the forbearance of knowing the dharma. For the sake of knowing the dharma, forbearance is the forbearance of knowing the dharma, like a tree of flowers and fruits. For example, a tree for the sake of flowers is called a flower tree, and a tree for the sake of fruits is called a fruit tree. In the abbreviated wording, the term "forbearance of dharma" is used because only one aspect is mentioned, just as one calls Devadatta Devadatta. It is said in the sutras that reality itself is nirvana. What is reality itself? It is that which has completely exhausted and abandoned desire, which is explained in detail here. The phrase "that certainty is certainty" means that reality itself is certain there and has become one, and is therefore called certainty. The phrase "entering into that is manifest going" means that entering into that which has become one is going. Thus, in order to enter without perversion, it is called certain entering. The phrase "when that is born" refers to forbearance in knowing the dharma. "Like a lamp and birth" is a simile like a lamp and birth. For example, just as a lamp can dispel future darkness, and birth can generate future birth, so too, the forbearance of knowing the dharma in relation to suffering can also prevent the state of an ordinary being in the future. This is the accepted function, and not the abandonment of other afflictions. Others say that it can be prevented by the excellence of worldly dharmas, meaning that it can prevent the state of an ordinary being.

And combine them. If it is said, "No, because that is its dharma," meaning that the excellence of worldly dharmas can prevent it, that statement is not reasonable. Why? Because those are the dharmas of ordinary beings, how can the dharmas of ordinary beings prevent the dharmas of ordinary beings? If it is said, "Because it contradicts it, there is no fault," it means that the excellence of dharmas contradicts the very nature of ordinary beings, so there is no fault. What is it like? It is like riding on the shoulders of an enemy and attacking him. For example, just as someone rides on the shoulders of an enemy and attacks the enemy himself, so too, the excellence of dharmas rides on the shoulders of the enemy, the ordinary being himself, and destroys the ordinary being himself, so it is said. Others say that two ways can prevent it, meaning that the very nature of ordinary beings is prevented by the excellence of worldly dharmas and by patience. How does it prevent it? Because it is in accordance with the path of no interruption and the path of liberation. The excellence of worldly dharmas is in accordance with the path of no interruption, and patience is in accordance with the path of liberation. For example, the path of no interruption abandons afflictions, and the path of liberation abandons what has been abandoned, similarly, the excellence of worldly dharmas causes the very nature of ordinary beings to decline, and patience causes decline. This is called "knowing the dharma of suffering," meaning that the scriptures use this name to designate it, indicating that it is always in a state of non-leakage. Therefore, from then on, it is evident that it is called "knowing the dharma in that itself" as non-leaking. Focusing on the general means focusing on the suffering experienced in the form and formless realms. Because one knows the suchness of the Dharma from the very beginning, it means that one knows the suchness of the Dharma, such as suffering, from the very beginning, which is a summary statement. Because it arises from its cause, it means that it is its cause, that is its meaning. Similarly, the realization of
