It is not like that. All phenomena arising from the mind, together with the mind, have been explained one by one in various ways. This means that the mind, for the time being. Separate consciousnesses, separate cognitions. Like this and so on, its own nature, as well as aggregates, elements, sense bases, virtue, non-virtue, etc., have been explained one by one in various ways, and those phenomena arising from the mind have also been explained with their own nature and the differences between each other, as well as determining the number of one's own mind, as well as desire, the first dhyana ground, etc., in various ways. What is called the same meaning is that whatever the mind is, that is itself, and that itself is what is called consciousness. Because there is the same meaning here, it is the same meaning. The difference of the definitive word is to be stated, because of distinguishing, it is called mind, this is a synonym for distinguishing between virtue and non-virtue. In the manner of a definitive word, it is thus established. Because of knowing, it is mind, what is called mind, the root of this word is the meaning of knowing. Because of cognizing the object, it is consciousness. Because of accumulating by the elements of virtue and non-virtue, it is called mind, this is to say that the treatises of the Sutra School and the treatises of the Yogacara School, in the manner of the existence of habit, therefore it is mind. What serves as the basis is mind. What is relied upon is consciousness, this is to say that relying on the entity of the basis is mind, because it is to fully understand the meaning of "the six just passed, whatever consciousness is, that is mind." Relying on the entity of what is relied upon is consciousness, because there is the saying that "relying on the two, consciousness arises." For the phrase "mind and mental factors, basis and object and with aspect, and corresponding existence," again, the word "again" is said in order to be related to the same meaning, that is to say, whatever is expressed by the words mind and mental factors, that is what is to be expressed by the word "with basis," that is, corresponding to the object, corresponding to the aspect, and corresponding existence, etc., are also the same as this. Therefore, because of relying on the faculty, it is with basis, because of relying on the six sense bases.

This is the definition of the word "object." Because of clinging to the object, they are with an object. Mind and mental factors do not arise without an object. In order to distinguish each aspect of the object itself, they are with aspects. Because they have an object, they cling to each aspect of the object. For example, consciousness can recognize blue or yellow things, becoming an object, which is the definition of the word "object." Thus, the object itself is experienced by feeling, distinguished by perception, manifested by thought, and so on. Or, for the same object, consciousness clings to it as a general characteristic, while feeling clings to the individual characteristic as an experience, and perception clings to it as a distinction, and so on. Because of co-existence, they are called "concomitant," meaning they do not separate from each other, so they are concomitant. The so-called "same basis, object, aspect, time, and substance" means that the basis on which the mind arises is the basis on which feeling, perception, thought, etc., also arise; similarly, the object on which the mind arises is the object on which feeling, etc., also arise; the aspect on which the mind arises is the aspect on which feeling, etc., also arise. If the mind has a blue aspect, then the feeling, etc., that are concomitant with it will only arise with a blue aspect. When the mind arises, feeling, etc., also only arise at that time. Just as the mind arises in only one substance, feeling also only arises in one substance, not two or three. The substance of perception and the substance of thought are also the same as this, and so on. Therefore, this last point is difficult to understand, so it is said that just as there is only one mind, mental factors are also each one substance. The teacher wants to explain non-concomitant dharmas, so he begins to ask: mind and mental factors have vast and various differences...
