Everywhere, it should be understood appropriately. If someone asks, what are "mind" and "thought karma"? The answer is: the pervasive conceptualization of thinking "I should do this or that" arises first. After thinking like that, the "mind" that causes the body to act arises next, and that is called "thought karma." If that's the case, since there is no indicative form, then the non-indicative form that operates in the desire realm also does not exist, which would lead to a serious fault. For these faults, there are also remedies for the faults. If a non-indicative form arises from the very distinction of the mind called "body karma," what would be the problem? It would be like the non-indicative form of meditative equipoise, following the mind. It won't be like that, because the distinction of the mind causes its attraction to be distinct. Even if the indicative form exists, drawing it depends on the power of the mind, because it is dull. The Vaibhashikas say that shape is only substance, and the indicative form of the body is also the nature of shape. The indicative form of speech is the sound of speech. The sound of the nature of speech is the indicative form of speech. The non-indicative form is just what was said before. The Sutrantikas say that it is not a substance either, because it is merely promising not to do it, and it also relies on the past great elements, and those also do not have their own nature, nor do they have the characteristic of form. The Vaibhashikas say that it exists. How is it known? Because the sutra speaks of three kinds of undefiled form, as well as increase and unconditioned paths, etc. The sutra says, "The form of the three places encompasses form, that is, there is form that is visible and obstructive, there is form that is invisible but obstructive, and there is form that is neither visible nor obstructive." Thus, three kinds of form are spoken of. What are the uncontaminated dharmas? For any past, future, and present form, and up to consciousness, attachment or anger does not arise.

These are called the uncontaminated dharmas, and uncontaminated form is also spoken of. Apart from non-manifest form, there is no form that can be indicated or obstructed, nor is there uncontamination. A son or daughter of a faithful family who possesses these seven things that are the object of merit arising from substance, whether walking, standing, sleeping, or not sleeping, will always and continuously increase merit, and will only give rise to merit. Similarly, possessing that which does not arise from substance is the same, and increase is also spoken of. Apart from non-manifest form, merit associated with other minds cannot increase. If there is no non-manifest form, the path of action that one has not done oneself, but has caused others to do, will not be accomplished. Merely giving instructions will not become a path of action, because that action has not been done. Even if it has been done, because there is no difference in its own nature. The Blessed One also said, "Monks, dharma is an external sense base, not included by the eleven sense bases, unindicatable, and unobstructed." But he did not say that it is not form. There, if one does not see a non-manifest form that does not belong to the realm of the dharma sense base, what need would there be? If there is no non-manifest form, there will also be no eightfold path, because speech, the limit of action, and livelihood are not possible for entering into samadhi. What, then, does it mean when it is said, "Knowing thus and seeing thus, his right view, right thought, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration meditation will be perfected. The speech, the limit of action, and the livelihood of this one have previously been completely purified and completely cleansed"? This refers to having previously separated from desire by the worldly path. If there is no non-manifest form, the Pratimoksha vows will also not exist, because after having taken them correctly,

If one has other thoughts, it is impossible to become a bhikshu or bhikshuni. The Sutra says that abandonment is an obstacle to immoral discipline, so it is also said to be a water bubble. Since non-existence is not suitable to be a water bubble, only non-form is existent. To this, the Sutra masters say, "This is indeed many, and it is also diverse, but it is not so." Why is that? Someone says, "Because temporarily three kinds of form are spoken of." To this, the Yogacharas say, "Through the power of the samadhi of meditators, the form of the object of samadhi arises. Since that is not an object of the senses, it is invisible. Since it does not obstruct the object, it is unobstructed." Now, if you think about how that is form, then it is also similar to non-form. Someone says, "Because the form without defilements is spoken of." To this, the Yogacharas say, "The form that arises from the power of samadhi is without defilements for the samadhi without defilements." Others say, "The form of an arhat and whatever is external, because it is not the basis of defilements." If so, then what does the Sutra say are the defiled dharmas? It extensively says that they are the eyes and forms, etc. That is because they are not the antidote to defilements, so they are said to be defiled. If so, then in terms of categories, it would be both defiled and undefiled. What would happen? It would become a search for characteristics. Since it is defiled, it will never be undefiled, so what contradiction is there in this? If all the ayatanas such as form were defiled, then why does the Sutra extensively distinguish which defiled form aggregates are the stove of the mind and the basis for kneading? Someone says, "Because it is said that merit will increase." To this, the former teachers say, "However it is,
