Then, those hell guardians open their mouths with iron tongs, and use iron spoons to put burning, fiercely burning, completely burning, burning into one piece of iron balls into their mouths, and the lips of those sentient beings are also burned, and the tongue, palate, throat, esophagus, heart, the vicinity of the heart, intestines, and large and small intestines are also burned, and then flow down. Furthermore, those great hell guardians hook those sentient beings out like fishing with a hook, and then put them face up on the burning, fiercely burning, completely burning, burning into one piece of iron ground, and ask, 'Hey, sentient beings, what do you want?' They reply, 'Hey, we ourselves don't know, we ourselves can't see. However, we are thirsty.' Then, those hell guardians open their mouths with iron tongs, and pour boiling copper water into them, and the lips of those sentient beings are also burned, all the way down to flowing out. They in such a way...' should be expanded. They are exhausted of strength, their splendor disappears, and their diligence also disappears, so they sit on the bank of the Vaitarani River. On the bank of that Vaitarani River, there are birds called iron-mouthed crows dwelling there, those sentient beings... as before. They will cause many harms. There, when those sentient beings experience the feelings of hell, as long as they have not completely purified the sins and unwholesome deeds that cause them to experience the feelings of hell, they will be thrown into the Vaitarani River, climb the iron tree sword-leaf forest, enter the forest where the leaves are like swords, walk on the great road filled with razor blades, sink into the swamp of rotten corpses and excrement, and go to the fire pit.

There, when beings were previously humans, they engaged in non-dharma and did what was unreasonable, doing deeds that were purely dark, so those who were born in the Naraka of beings, having died and transmigrated from the Naraka of beings, will become possessors of suffering, unpleasantness, and many disturbances. There, when beings were previously humans, they practiced dharma and did what was reasonable, doing deeds that were purely white, so those who engaged in some misconduct and were born in the Naraka of beings, having died and transmigrated from the Naraka of beings, will become possessors of much happiness and pleasantness. The Blessed One also said in the Sutra of the Prophecy of the Five Messengers: Monks, there is also a time and an occasion when the east gate of the great Naraka of Avīci opens, from there all the way to the gods who control the emanations of others, they will also be born with a shared destiny.
