It does not touch the support. Below it are the excellent golden throne of the lord of the gods, Indra, and the thrones arranged for the remaining gods of the Thirty-Three. There, the gods of the Thirty-Three gather and sit, contemplating and practicing the Dharma for the benefit of the gods and humans, thereby achieving complete enlightenment. The road extending from the city of the gods is twelve yojanas in length and also twelve yojanas in width, with a beautiful and pleasing shape. It is covered with golden sand and sprinkled with sandalwood water. On the left and right sides of the road, various kinds of flower trees and fruit trees grow well and are lush, arranged like garlands. For example, like the lineage of garlands, or a skilled disciple of the garland lineage, stringing flowers on a string and making exquisite flower earrings. Various birds that grow from the plains emit pleasant and melodious sounds, sounds that are pleasing, sounds that are beautiful, and shapes that can transform at will, emitting beautiful sounds. The city of the gods is surrounded by seven layers of moats. These moats are approximately one yojana in depth and width. They are built with four materials: gold, silver, beryl, and crystal. The moats are filled with cool, honey-like water, covered with utpala flowers, lotuses, water lilies, and white lotuses. Various birds grow in the water, emitting pleasant and melodious sounds, sounds that are pleasing, sounds that are beautiful, and shapes that can transform at will, emitting beautiful sounds. In these moats, there are water channels, water mills, and various grains. The gods of the Thirty-Three play by the water's edge, joyfully enjoying various pleasures. Various birds born there make pleasant and delightful sounds, sounds that are pleasing to the ear, sounds that are soft, and forms that can transform at will emit beautiful sounds. There, the gods of the Thirty-Three Realms, together with their retinues, play and rejoice, indulging in pleasures and experiencing the fruits of their own karma. To the east of the city of the gods, at a distance of twenty yojanas, there is a garden of the gods of the Thirty-Three Realms called the "Various Tree Garden." It is two hundred and fifty yojanas in length, and also two hundred and fifty yojanas in width, with a circumference of one thousand yojanas. Its shape is excellent, pleasing to behold and beautiful. It is surrounded on all sides by a golden wall, the height of which is one yojana. The wall has four kinds of eaves made of gold, silver, beryl, and crystal. There are four kinds of turrets and bridges that extend upwards and sideways, namely those made of gold, silver, beryl, and crystal. The ground inside is well-painted with spices, pleasing to behold and beautiful, painted with one hundred and one colors. It is smooth and extremely soft, like the fluff of a silk-cotton tree or the fluff of cotton. When a foot is placed on it, it makes a "nems" sound, and when a foot is lifted, it makes a "par" sound. Many Mandarava flowers completely cover it, up to the knees. By the power of the wind, the old flowers are scattered, and the new flowers are well displayed. Thus it is said: By the power of merit, the gods cause a great wind to rise in the Various Tree Garden, scattering the old flowers and displaying the new flowers well. In the Various Tree Garden there is a pond, fifty yojanas in length and also fifty yojanas in width, with a circumference of two hundred yojanas. The pond is also built with four kinds of bricks made of gold, silver, beryl, and crystal. On the four sides of the pond there are steps, and these steps are also made of gold, silver, and beryl.
