There is no fault. "Having self-nature" and so on. The so-called "diligence" refers to combining with the Hearer Vehicle. If one does not study the Bodhisattva Pitaka and is diligent in the Hearer Vehicle, then because one is diligent in hearing and thinking through the precepts of accumulating virtuous dharmas, it leads to falling away, so it is a dharma like a place of transgression. If a Bodhisattva has the Bodhisattva Pitaka of his own Bodhisattva Vehicle, but does not diligently engage in it, completely abandoning it, and diligently and habitually engages in the Hearer Pitaka, then it will become an affliction-related transgression. If there is no Bodhisattva Pitaka, and one has become accustomed to it, and one constantly upholds the Bodhisattva Pitaka, then there is no fault. "Non-diligence" and so on. The so-called "diligence" refers to following. "Diligence" refers to habit. The so-called "non-diligence" refers to what should not be diligently engaged in, because one should not know its meaning, so diligently engaging in external treatises, like just passing by, so it is a dharma like a place of transgression. Even if a Bodhisattva does not have the Bodhisattva Pitaka, but as the Buddha said, still diligently engages in external treatises, that is, the treatises of heretics, then it will become an affliction-related transgression. If one is very gentle, easily receptive, and will not forget even after a long time, able to think and distinguish meanings, and has the ability to approach the Buddha's words with reason, possessing unchanging wisdom, and diligently engages in the Buddha's words even more like a day, then there is no fault. "Even if diligent" and so on. Even if one is accustomed to diligence, if one is skilled in external treatises, then one is skilled in other treatises in a very pleasing way, and therefore feels happy, and therefore feels satisfied. Just like relying on hot medicine, it is not considered a fault, but if one abandons oneself, then it will become an affliction-related transgression. The so-called "Mahayana" and so on. The direction of Mahayana
