The actions of sentient beings in a position are as follows: To accomplish necessary tasks, or to travel back and forth on the road, or to combine correct terminology with the limits of work, or to protect possessions, or to mediate disputes, or to celebrate festivals, or to perform virtuous deeds, if one does not help with a mind full of pervasive distress and anger, it becomes a fault and a violation, becoming a fault of affliction. If one does not help with laziness and sloth, it becomes a non-afflictive fault. If one is sick and unable, there is no fault. If one entrusts it to others or is able to do it oneself, or has support and reliance, there is no fault. If one does not participate in harmful and non-Dharmic activities, there is no fault. If one wants to subdue with that method, there is no fault. The details are as before. If one has already promised others, there is no fault. If one entrusts the ability to others, there is no fault. If one constantly strives in the direction of virtue, there is no fault. If one is naturally dull-witted and not skilled in receiving teachings, there is no fault, as before. If one wants to protect the minds of many others, there is no fault. If one observes the precepts within the Sangha, there is no fault. Abandoning the act of attending to the sick. When a Bodhisattva encounters a sick person afflicted by illness, if one does not attend to and respect them with a mind full of pervasive distress and anger, it becomes a fault and a violation, becoming a fault of affliction. If one does not do it with laziness and sloth, it becomes a non-afflictive fault. If one is sick and unable, there is no fault. If one seeks others who are capable and suitable, there is no fault. If the sick person has support and reliance, there is no fault. If one is able to attend to and respect oneself, there is no fault. If one is afflicted by a long-term illness and can only barely manage, there is no fault. Constantly striving for the vast aspect of virtue, and not doing it in order to protect what would become an obstacle to the aspect of virtue, there is no fault. If one is very dull-witted and unable to teach the Dharma well, and also unable to comprehend well, there is no fault. If one has already promised others, there is no fault. Suffering beings

Not reciprocating: Regarding caring for the sick, one should understand it to be the same as relieving the suffering of pain. Not showing reason to the reckless: If a Bodhisattva sees those who act improperly regarding matters of this life and the next, if they have a mind of universal torment and a mind of anger, and do not show reason and propriety, then it becomes a fault and a contradiction, and becomes a fault of affliction. If one does not show it due to laziness and sloth, it becomes a non-afflictive fault. If one does not know oneself and is unable, there is no fault. If one entrusts it to someone capable, there is no fault. If he himself is capable, there is no fault. If one is completely taken care of by another virtuous friend, there is no fault. If one wants to subdue by that method, there is no fault. The detailed explanation is as before. Regarding someone to whom reason should be shown, if he has a mind of universal torment, and because of displeasure, he holds wrong views, and because of lack of joy and respect, he is of a stubborn nature, then there is no fault. Not returning favors for what has been done: If a Bodhisattva does not repay favors to those who benefit sentient beings, and does not perceive the favors, and has a mind of universal torment, if he does not reciprocate with corresponding benefits, then it becomes a fault and a contradiction, and becomes a fault of affliction. If one does not do it due to laziness and sloth, it becomes a non-afflictive fault. If one is unable and incapable despite trying hard, there is no fault. If one wants to subdue by that method, there is no fault, as before. If he himself does not want to reciprocate the favor, there is no fault. Not dispelling the sorrow of others: If a Bodhisattva does not dispel the sorrow of sentient beings, relatives, and those who are suffering from enjoyment, when sorrow arises, with a mind of universal torment, then it becomes a fault and a contradiction, and becomes a fault of affliction. If one does not dispel it due to laziness and sloth, it becomes a non-afflictive fault. The circumstances under which it does not become a fault are as follows: Starting from not helping with tasks, one should understand it as before. Desiring wealth
