It is said, speaking of "etc.". When the object is completely eliminated, and consciousness does not target anything outside the mind, then the mind abides in mere consciousness. Just as there is no grasping if there is no object to be grasped, this is the essence of the summary. In order to extensively show through explanation, it is said, speaking of "when one aims at what is taught," etc. When the mind that aims at what is taught, etc., does not see, grasp, or cling to external consciousness, and if one sees it as it truly is, even without making it an object, it is not powerless like a blind person. At that time, one abandons the grasping of consciousness, and the mind also abides in the nature of the mind. The term "consciousness" here refers to clinging. The term "grasping" refers to attachment, therefore, at that time, it will be shown that attachment to grasping is abandoned. Why does the mind abide in the nature of the mind at that time? Here, the reason is stated, speaking of "no object to be grasped," etc. To refute it, it is said, speaking of "if there is an object to be grasped," etc. Just as if there is an object to be grasped, there will be grasping, but if there is no object to be grasped, there will not be. Therefore, one realizes that if there is no object to be grasped, there is no grasping, but it is not merely realizing that there is no object to be grasped. What benefit is gained by destroying the object to be grasped and the grasping? Therefore, it is said, speaking of "if that is the case, what should be aimed at," etc. If that is the case, when the object to be grasped and the grasping are destroyed, not discriminating between the object to be grasped and the grasping, equality, the wisdom beyond the world, arises, and one also abandons the latent tendencies of clinging to the object to be grasped and the grasping, and the mind will abide in the nature of one's own mind, which is mere consciousness. Equality because the object to be grasped and the grasping are equal is called equality, which is wisdom beyond the world. Just as one does not discriminate against the object to be grasped and there is no clinging, similarly, one does not discriminate against the grasping and there is no clinging, this is a synonym. Equality because of equality refers to being very similar.
