It is said of the fully accomplished, and it is not merely the sound of the ultimate truth. In order to show the meaning of the sound "also," the sound of "also" and so on are spoken. This expression is not to be expressed in one aspect only, but to express all things that belong to the category of the realm of phenomena. For example, emptiness, suchness, signlessness, non-duality, the realm of non-discrimination, inexpressibility, non-cessation and non-arising, unconditionedness, and nirvana, and so on. Then, why is it called "suchness"? Because it exists as such at all times, it is called "suchness." In order to dispel this doubt, it is said, "For example, ordinary beings," and so on. Because it exists as such at all times in the times of ordinary beings and so on, it is called "suchness." That is to say, in the times of ordinary beings, learners, and non-learners, at all times, the mind and mental factors are free from the grasped and the grasper. Their nature is that they will never abandon, therefore they are free from the grasped and the grasper. For them, it exists as such, and it will never change, so it is called "suchness." For example, water and so on, even in times of turbidity and so on, remain in their own nature. In order to connect with the following, it is asked, "Is it suchness?" and so on. Just as the nature of the fully accomplished is called "suchness," is it that only mind-only is also called "suchness"? Or, is only mind-only another, and the nature of the fully accomplished is also another? If so, then the proponents of accomplishment would say, "That is mind-only." It means that the nature of the fully accomplished is mind-only, and not another. Why? In order to realize the characteristics of extreme purity. That is to say, because the nature of the fully accomplished is realized, it is extremely...

After comprehending the nature of complete purity, therefore, that is only consciousness-only. To explain the reason for comprehending the nature of complete purity, it is said: "Because at that time only that is seen, the mind dwells on name." And so on. Whenever a yogi becomes warm, and at the peak time, when the object of grasping is completely destroyed. At the time of patience, the mind dwells on name. Like this, when one is separated from the aspect of the object of grasping, one sees only name. That is said like this: Whenever, when the object of grasping is completely destroyed, the mind dwells on consciousness-only. Consciousness-only itself appears as form and so on. Because it is known that the meaning of form and so on does not exist, it will be shown. The word "name" refers to consciousness-only. Because it is said (in the sutra): "Name is the formless aggregates." Thus, because the mind dwells on name, at the time of the supreme Dharma, one will abandon attachment to consciousness-only. If the object of grasping does not appear, then the grasper will not appear either. The word "consciousness-only" refers to the aspect of the grasper. Whenever, like this, the object of grasping and the grasper are completely destroyed, after that, when the path of seeing arises, by the power of meditation, one touches the realm of reality without an object of focus. This is the meaning of the term "realizing the realm of reality." The term "realm of reality without an object of focus" refers to the realm of reality. "Touching" refers to between realization and direct perception. The cause of meditation refers to the meaning of the term "by the power of meditation." Whenever, when the realm of reality is completely realized, from higher to higher it becomes superior, one obtains complete liberation from all obscurations. One will also obtain mastery over the qualities of samadhi and so on. At that time, touching the realm of reality without an object of focus, that is the basis here. That is only consciousness-only. What will this show? It is said, "That" and so on. "That is only consciousness-only," this shows the moment of direct perception. Or, also the path is completely accomplished.

Because it is the nature itself, it is shown to be only the nature of consciousness. Therefore, the transcendental wisdom is shown as the sound of only consciousness. In this way, it will comprehend the nature of extreme purity, and the nature of extreme purity is the term called the realization of the Dharmadhatu. In order to show this meaning, there are two verses, and the meaning of the verses is the same as before. For this explanation, it is appropriate to clarify the meaning of manifestation of realization. In order to connect with the following and for the purpose of questioning, it is said, "If these are only consciousness," and so on. If it is only consciousness, and is free from the grasped and the grasper, then why do all beings become particularly attached to grasping forms and so on with the eyes and so on? To this, the proponent of the established conclusion says, "As long as it is only the nature of consciousness," and so on. As long as the consciousnesses of sentient beings do not abide in the nature of only consciousness, then the latent tendencies of their two graspings will not revert. If it does not revert, then they will be particularly attached to the thought, "This grasps this." Again, in order to make another connection of the summarized words, it is said, "Or what," and so on. That meaning has already been explained. The proponent of the established conclusion says, "As long as it is only the nature of consciousness," and so on. In order to refute that, it is said, "As long as it is the nature of mind," and so on. As long as the consciousness of the yogi does not abide in what is called the nature of mind, which is only the nature of consciousness, but is particularly attached to the grasped and the grasper, then the habit of the two graspings will not be abandoned. If one asks, what are the two graspings? It is said, "The two graspings are," and so on. Being particularly attached to the grasped and being particularly attached to the grasper, these are the two graspings. In order to show the latent tendencies, it is said, "Its latent tendency is," and so on. In order to cause the future two graspings to arise, whatever seed is sown by the two graspings from the Alaya consciousness, that is the latent tendency, which is the term called habit. Thus, after stating the meaning of the words, the meaning of the summarized words
