, and those discriminations of the appearance of sound in a rock echo, the appearance of the moon in water, and the appearance of sentient beings in an emanation, are known by those who realize that those appearances are non-existent. Similarly, pure transcendental wisdom also realizes that all that appears as the mind and mental factors, the apprehended and the apprehender, are separate from those appearances. Alternatively, just as illusions and the like arise from other causes, so too does the dependent nature arise from other causes. Therefore, it should be said to be similar to illusions and the like. If so, how does it show the dependent nature? Therefore, it is said, "The Dharma is here," and so on. The Dharmas that arise from the dharanis are considered to be included in the dependent nature. Thus, whatever is explained in the Great Vehicle about illusions and the like, all of that is explained based on the nature of the dependent nature. Thus, the dependent nature is shown to be held by pure transcendental wisdom. What is the perfectly established nature? Thinking this, it is said, "The perfectly established nature is," and so on. Whatever is the nature of the perfectly established, that is the single taste of wisdom like space. There, because of the single taste of wisdom, it is the single taste of wisdom. "Single taste" means a single aspect. For example, space is not diverse, therefore it is the object of wisdom of a single aspect, and the perfectly established is also the same, this is the concluding statement. In some texts, it says, "The perfectly established and wisdom are of a single taste like space." The meaning of this is: the nature of the perfectly established is of a single taste like space, that is, a single aspect. Wisdom is also of a single taste there, that is, a single aspect. For this explanation, the meaning of what was previously said is explained with reason. Here, quoting the source, it is said, "As it is said," and so on. All those Dharmas that were just spoken of are seen by transcendental non-conceptual wisdom to be like the center of space, as it is said in that Dharani itself. How are the Dharmas seen in that way? Therefore, it is said, "Because only the Suchness of the Dharmas of the dependent nature is seen." Thus, the world

Transcendent wisdom sees only the suchness of phenomena called "other-powered." That mere suchness is of a single nature like space, because in all minds and mental events, there is no entity of grasper and grasped, so there is no variety in suchness. Furthermore, in order to answer the view that contradicts the sutras, in order to establish the previous position, it is said, "If the other-powered is substantial," and so on. If it is thought that the nature of the other-powered is a single substance, then how does the sutra say that all phenomena are without self-nature? And how does it say unborn and unceasing? To this, the proponent of the established doctrine says: There is no contradiction. He said, "There is no contradiction," etc., there is no contradiction with the sutras. How is there none? Like this: Nature is of three kinds. He said, "Nature is of three kinds," etc. That is, like the other-powered, etc., considering the non-self-nature of the three natures, it is taught that all phenomena are without self-nature, which is the brief meaning. Furthermore, in order to show the meaning of the limbs, he said, "Only the three natures," etc., which was not explained because it is easy to understand. Because it is substantial, if the nature of the other-powered is a different kind, then how do the other two become their own nature? He said, "Because they exist by their own characteristics, like existing," etc. By whatever characteristic is shown, they are all like existing, and because they exist, the three are also called nature. In order to show the names of the three non-self-natures, he said, "The three non-self-natures are," etc., which was not explained because it is easy to understand. If asked what all phenomena are, he said, "All phenomena are," etc. Having thus stated the limbs, now, in order to show what the three natures are, which are non-self-nature, he said, "The first is by characteristics," etc. The first is non-self-nature only by characteristics. The second is non-self-nature because it does not arise by itself. The third is ultimate non-self-nature, which is suchness. This is the brief meaning. Commentary.
