Section. All seeds flow like a stream of water. If one clings to self, it is not right to do so. This is what I have not shown to children. Thus it was said. In terms of reasoning, such is the absorption of cessation, and the absorption of non-perception, and arising from those without perception, again the consciousness that engages with objects, known as "consciousness of objects," arises. Thus it is said, the alaya-consciousness is a different entity from the engaging consciousnesses, this is the remainder of the statement. In the absorption of cessation and non-perception, when one enters absorption and becomes non-perceptive, all engaging consciousnesses cease entirely, but when one rises again, if there is no alaya-consciousness, the engaging consciousnesses cannot arise. It cannot arise from the mind in absorption, because that has ceased for a long time, and the cessation no longer exists. What does not exist cannot be a cause or a result, like the chief and the self, and so on. If someone thinks that in the nature of things there is no arising and ceasing of things, and that the future, present, and past are the ways in which things act, such as not acting is the future, acting is the present, and the cessation of action is the past. If one thinks in this way, then one should acknowledge that action is different from things, because in the times of past and future, there is no action, but things are acknowledged. Thus, because it arises from nothing and after arising it disappears, arising and ceasing are actions, but not by things. Form, feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness are not, because they constantly possess their own nature, and there is no arising and ceasing, so the aggregates of form and so on are not impermanent like cessation. Therefore, it will not become suffering either, because it is said in the sutra that whatever is impermanent is suffering. Thus, the aggregates are neither impermanent nor suffering.

Therefore, the mind will become inverted. Because of the inversion, it is impossible to abandon afflictions, just as one inverts permanence and happiness in things that are impermanent and painful. Action has arising and ceasing, so it is conditioned. Because it is not included in the aggregates such as form, it should be admitted that there is a sixth aggregate. Also, do not say that the aggregates of grasping include all contaminated dharmas, and the aggregates include all conditioned dharmas. Also, some say that action means completely holding the fruit. A certain dharma exists as the cause of a certain dharma, therefore, the dharma and that dharma hold the fruit, therefore, existing in the substance of the cause is completely holding the fruit of things, because that dharma itself exists in the substance of the cause, so action is not something other than dharma. Therefore, it will not become the fault mentioned above. Not other, is that itself. That is to say, action is not something other than dharma, dharma itself is action. Similarly, from the point of view of action, dharma is not something other than action, action itself is dharma. If this is the case, then the past and the future will become non-existent like dharmas, therefore, it is equivalent to abandoning the statement that the past and the future exist. Or, action is also like the self-nature of dharma, because it is not something other than dharma, so it must be admitted to be the three times. If this is the case, then the statement that time is established from action will also be lost. Doing is considered to be the present. Other is done by others, because it has already been done, so it is not done by oneself. What has not been done needs to be done, but not what has already been done. Therefore, action and dharma are not done and not done, so they are clearly different. Therefore, the above-mentioned fault exists. If dharma and action are not other, then cause and effect will not exist, just like this, the fruit is also like the cause, completely established from the beginning, therefore, if something is done to the fruit, it will become the cause. If it is not done, how can it be said to be the cause? If the fruit is not done by it, how can it become its fruit? Do

They themselves become objects of cause and effect to each other, but this is not the case for dharmas. If there is action, other actions will arise; if there is not, then it is not, because it is not so for the nature of dharma. The nature of dharma does not arise from the nature of dharma either, because it is constant. Therefore, if something exists, something will arise; if it does not exist, nothing will arise, that is its cause. The other is the result, which is called worldly fame. Therefore, the nature of dharma is neither a cause nor a result, which contradicts worldly people and treatises. Others say that the action arising from dharmas should not be said to be "that itself" or "other." Why should it not be said to be "that itself"? Because it is not the nature of dharma. Why should it not be said to be "other"? Because it is not the essence of that nature of dharma either, so it should not be said to be "other." If that is the case, then what is neither the essence of that nor the essence of another is like a rabbit's horn, because it has no essence, so it is non-existent. How can something that does not exist become the cause of time differentiation? Therefore, time differentiation from action cannot be established in any way. Therefore, what has not arisen is the future, what has ceased is the past, and the cessation of the path of arising should be acknowledged as such. Not doing is the future, doing is the present, and the cessation of action is the past, it should not be acknowledged in this way. Some others say that form and mind with senses are one seed, therefore, in cessation and unconscious samadhi and arising from unconsciousness, mind arises from form with senses, for example, from the mind that transmigrates from the formless realm, after cessation for a long time, form with senses arises. Therefore, they say, what need is there for alaya-vijnana in this? If that is the case, then the mind stream of each sentient being will also become two, one arising from form with senses, and the other arising from mind. Entering cessation samadhi in the mind of the formless realm is formless.
