It exists together with all consciousnesses, and they also exist together with the place where they are born, but not with other realms and other lands. Or, the reason why it is called "other" is to distinguish it from those that exist together with the root consciousness, because the touch, etc., of the root consciousness are un-obscured and un-specified. The afflicted mind is always obscured and un-specified. If the afflicted mind arises without distinction even at the time of virtue, affliction, and unspecified, then its cessation would be impossible. If it does not cease, then how can there be liberation for it? If there is no liberation, how can it not become without liberation? It will not become without liberation, because, in this way, it does not exist in the Arhat, it does not exist in the cessation attainment, and it does not exist in the supramundane path. Because the Arhat has abandoned all afflictions, there is no afflicted mind, just as it is abandoned by cultivating the afflictions of the peak of existence. When the Arhat fruit is attained, it is abandoned by the uninterrupted path itself, so in the state of Arhat fruit, it does not exist like other afflictions. Also, the one who is free from attachment to the sphere of nothingness, who has attained the cessation attainment, also attains the cessation attainment by the power of the path, so at the time of the cessation attainment, it also ceases like the path. After arising from the cessation, it arises again from the Alaya consciousness itself. It also does not exist in the supramundane path. The supramundane path is mentioned in order to distinguish it from the mundane path, because the afflicted mind will arise in the mundane path. Because seeing selflessness is the antidote to the view of self, etc., it cannot arise in the supramundane path, because the antidote and the incompatible sides cannot exist simultaneously, so it will cease in the supramundane path. After arising from that, it arises again from the Alaya consciousness itself. This is the variability. The teaching that has been spoken has been completed. This is the conclusion. After the second variability, the third variability needs to be spoken, therefore it is said, "Third, for the six kinds of objects, whatever is the object is those."

Om. This is the remainder of the phrase "transformed into consciousness." The term "six kinds" refers to six forms: form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and the object of the nature of dharma. Whatever focuses on an object is synonymous with grasping and discriminating. So, is it virtuous, non-virtuous, or indeterminate? Therefore, it is said, "Neither virtuous nor non-virtuous." The term "neither virtuous nor non-virtuous" is also not indeterminate, because being associated with non-attachment, non-hatred, and non-ignorance is virtuous. Being associated with attachment, hatred, and ignorance is non-virtuous. Not being associated with virtuous and non-virtuous is neither of the two, which is synonymous with "neither virtuous nor non-virtuous." So, with what kind of mental factors are they associated, and how many mental factors are associated with them? Therefore, it is said, "Pervasive, specific, and definite, mental factors are virtuous and like that, afflictions, near afflictions, three feelings, and these are together." Because the stated pervasive factors and so on are not understood, therefore, in order to thoroughly explain them, it is said, "The initial touch and so on." Being initially spoken, it is initial. Thus, pervasive, always there are touch and attention, touch and perception, volition are together. This is what is initially spoken. The first of these is touch, therefore it is touch and so on. These five dharmas, touch and attention and so on, follow all minds, therefore they are pervasive. Thus, they arise without distinction in the alaya consciousness, the afflicted mind, and the entering consciousnesses. Regarding specific objects, it is said, "Desire, interest, and mindfulness are together, samadhi and wisdom are specific objects." Being determined by specific objects, it is therefore specific objects. Their objects are specific objects, not all. Among them, desire is the wish for a thought object, because there is no desire for an unthought object, therefore it shows that it is determined on each respective object.
