It is also like this. Similarly, it should be said of suffering and so on. If there is no grasper and grasped when he is functioning, then how does he grasp? If he does not grasp, how does he know that he exists? Therefore, it is said that if you do not see this, you do not see that. The so-called "not seeing this" refers to the nature of the perfectly established. The so-called "not seeing that" refers to the nature of the other-powered. The nature of the perfectly established, which is seen by the transcendental non-discriminating wisdom, not seeing means not knowing, not seeing with direct perception. Those who obtain it later, because they are the objects of worldly and transcendental wisdom, the knower does not take the other with the other. Therefore, if you do not see the perfectly established, you do not see the other-powered. But the wisdom obtained after the transcendental wisdom is not not seeing. As it is said in the Dharani Sutra of Entering Non-Discrimination: "The wisdom obtained after that sees all dharmas as illusion, as mirage, as dream, as cataract, as echo, as moon in water, as transformation." The dharma mentioned here refers to those belonging to the other-powered. The perfectly established is like space, it is the one taste of wisdom. As it is said: "With non-discriminating wisdom, see all dharmas as the center of space." Just like this, because with the other-powered, only the suchness of all dharmas can be seen. If the other-powered itself is real, why does the sutra say that all dharmas are without self-nature, unproduced, and unceasing? There is no contradiction, because like this: There are three kinds of self-nature, and three kinds of no self-nature. Considering these three kinds, it is said that all dharmas are without self-nature. There are only three kinds of self-nature. In order to show that there is no fourth kind, it is counted like this. Because each of their own natures exists and changes, it is self-nature. There are three kinds of no self-nature, namely, characteristic no self-nature, birth no self-nature, and ultimate no self-nature. All dharmas are the nature of the completely imputed, the other-powered, and the perfectly established. Now I will talk about self-nature.

In order to explain which of the three is without self-nature, first, in terms of characteristics: No self-nature, and otherness as well, because it does not arise by itself, therefore no self-nature is otherness. The ultimate meaning of Dharma is also it, thus Suchness is also it. Thus it is said. The first is the self-nature of the completely imputed, it is without self-nature by its characteristics, its characteristic is because of imputation. The characteristic of form is existence as form, the characteristic of feeling is experiencing, and so on, these do not have their own nature, like a flower in the sky, they do not have their own nature. And otherness as well, refers to the self-nature of dependent origination. It is like an illusion, because it is born from other conditions, therefore it does not have its own entity. Thus, just as it appears, it does not have birth, therefore birth is called no self-nature. The ultimate meaning of Dharma is also it, thus Suchness is also it. The ultimate is the wisdom that transcends the world, because it is supreme. Its meaning is sublime. Or like the sky, the taste is the same everywhere, the Dharma that is stainless and unchanging is completely accomplished, called the ultimate meaning. Thus, the self-nature of the perfectly accomplished is the self-nature of dependent origination, it is the ultimate meaning of all Dharmas, because it is its Dharma-nature, therefore the self-nature of the perfectly accomplished is the ultimate meaning of no self-nature, the perfectly accomplished is because of the self-nature of no entity. Is the perfectly accomplished expressed only by the ultimate meaning? Answer: No, Suchness is also it. The word "also" here, not only expresses Suchness, but is to express all things that belong to the category of Dharmadhatu. Because it exists as such in all times, it is Suchness, thus in the times of ordinary beings, learners, and non-learners, it is always so, not otherwise, therefore it is called Suchness. Is it that, like Suchness, only consciousness is also completely perfectly accomplished? Or is it thought that only consciousness is something else, therefore it is said: It itself is only consciousness.
