The habit of clinging to the names of all phenomena such as the eye is that which abides in the consciousness that takes up everything, and which has followed since beginningless time. Therefore, because the names of phenomena such as the eye are connected with manifest clinging, and arise again and again, it is understood that this is the habit of elaboration. The bad place of feeling is the habit of feelings that are associated with defilements. The bad place of affliction is the latent affliction. The bad place of karma is the habit of karma that is associated with defilements. The bad place of maturation is the very nature of being incapable of maturation. The bad place of the obscuration of affliction is that the afflictions are inexhaustible and long-lasting. The bad place of the obscuration of karma is the very obscuration of karma, such as the uninterrupted karma that obstructs the path. The bad place of the obscuration of maturation is obtaining a body such as that of a sentient being in hell, which is incompatible with the manifest realization of truth. The bad place of obscuration is the very suppression by desire and so forth, which obstructs application to the side of virtue. The bad place of thought is the very suppression by thoughts and so forth, which desire to abandon ordination. The bad place of food is the very fact that eating too little or too much food becomes unsuitable. The bad place of sexual intercourse is the very harm to body and mind that results from the union of two with two. The bad place of dreams is the very fatigue of body and mind that results from sleep. The bad place of illness is the very unpleasant experience that results from imbalance of the elements. The bad place of aging is the very lack of control that results from the transformation of the elements. The bad place of death is the very confusion of all the faculties at the time of death. The bad place of complete exhaustion is the exhaustion of the body due to excessive walking and so forth. The support of the bad place is this and other bad places of expression, and by combining them as appropriate, it is the nature of not transcending suffering. Furthermore, the great, medium, and small bad places should be understood in the order of their application in the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm. Affliction

The fault of afflictive obscuration is the contradictory aspect of the Bodhi of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. The fault of the obscuration of meditative absorption is the contradictory aspect of the actualization of the nine successive meditative absorptions of abiding in gradual progression. The fault of the obscuration of knowable objects is the contradictory aspect of omniscience itself. Thus, how can all these faults be constantly and continuously severed? It is the ultimate path. As it is said, if the liberation of mind is complete and the liberation of wisdom is complete, then all the faults of the body are severed. With the cause of mindfulness, like this, its first gate is like this: for the forms that are to be known by eye consciousness, be extremely gentle, extremely hidden, extremely guarded, extremely protected, and extremely cultivated. Yes, for the intermediate dharma to be known by ear consciousness, desire arises. What are the attainments of encounter? For the accumulation of faults, it is established as the attainment of encounter. What are the attainments of separation? For the exhaustion of faults, it is established as the attainment of separation. What is the Vajra-like Samadhi? It should be known as the abandonment path at the end of the path of cultivation. It can also be summarized into two aspects: that which is summarized by the path of joining and that which is summarized by the path of no interruption. That which is summarized by the path of joining is that from now on, all obscurations cannot be broken, and all obscurations collapse like a mountain. That which is summarized by the path of no interruption is that by which the knowledge of exhaustion and the knowledge of non-arising arise below. This Vajra-like Samadhi is also pervaded by uninterruptedness, stability, solidity, and one taste. How is the Vajra-like Samadhi uninterrupted? Because after it arises, there is no throwing due to the interruption of the worldly path. Stability is because all obscurations cannot erode it, and all obscurations are the essence of destruction. One taste is because it is non-conceptual. Pervasiveness is because it focuses on the suchness of the external characteristics of all knowable objects. In order to make the meaning of these the same, in order to accomplish that meaning, considering these, the Bhagavan used the example of a great unformed mountain...
