That which is called 'gradual occurrence' refers to bows and arrows for distant places. For places closer than that, it refers to short spears. For very close distances, it refers to knives. Therefore, those beings are universally cutting and universally separating on the iron ground, which is called 'not having two limbs,' and 'causing to depart,' that is, dividing into two, which is also to make the two into chunks, fragments, and fragments of fragments. Pounding and universally pounding with hot and universally blazing iron hammers, tormenting and universally tormenting, this is called 'tormenting.' 'Tormenting' means to grind completely. They have no opportunity to experience suffering there, here, 'opportunity' is a synonym for 'possession.' Just as it is said in the Vinaya, after abandoning, one should give robes. However, the phrase 'we are hungry' follows this concept. Gathering the remnants together is because it is very similar to iron, so it is consistent in Dharma. For example, just as in the Sutra, when Palden asked, Maudgalyayana's son extensively narrated, Palden and the great monk Maudgalyayana's son, in the morning, having put on his undergarments and Dharma robes, and carrying his bowl, descended from Vulture Peak Mountain to Rajagriha (Rajgir, located in present-day Bihar) for alms. Then, the great monk Maudgalyayana's son smiled in one direction. Palden asked: Venerable, what is the cause and condition of that smile? The venerable Palden replied: I saw a being, as large as a building, crying with a pitiful voice, experiencing unbearable intense suffering, coming from the sky above. Having seen it, I thought: such a being, such a yaksha, having obtained such a body, suffering such suffering, and so on. These are extensively narrated. Then, the Bhagavan said to the monks: Monks, it is very good, very good that my Shravaka disciple, who has become an eye, dwells here, and so on. Monks, that being was formerly a cattle slaughterer in this very Rajagriha, due to the nature of his karma.

It is said, "The mature one for many years," and so on. The difference stated in that very sutra is this: Seeing crows and the like pecking at the impure heap of bones, (people will say) that person is a student of killing cattle. Similarly, that one who has crows and the like pecking at the top of the ash heap, and at the mouth and nose, is a butcher who kills. That one who is entwined by a burning iron net is a fisherman. That one whose testicles are the size of a clay pot is a cheat who uses measuring cups, and so on. "Licking with the tongue" means repeatedly licking both lips with the tongue. "Foul odor" means the odor of raw meat and the like. Therefore, sentient beings born as humans will experience such suffering of poverty, and so on, which is the opposite of giving alms of food and drink, and so on, combine them in order. The daughters of the gods are superior to the daughters of the asuras, and also for the asuras, the nectar of the gods is superior, therefore, for those daughters of the asuras, they will associate with the asuras. The asuras will associate with the gods for the sake of the four kinds of nectar, it is said. The four kinds of nectar are those with colors blue and so on. Therefore, some specific sutras teach with different teachings, such as the Noble Heap of Jewels and so on. Regarding the statement, "Those are gods themselves," the venerable Assembly of Goodness says that because they do not realize the truth and are included among non-human beings, they must be pretas. To this, for the most part, the terms for those uncertain reasons are applied, even though there is no realization of the truth in forms and formlessness, and in the unpleasant sounds of the north, they are not necessarily pretas. If a negation is stated for non-humans other than humans, that is an uncertain reason. If it contradicts, then at that time it is not established, because in any sutra it is said, "They are asuras," because in the sutra, the Blessed One directly

These monks say so because they have long been considered gods. But that is not correct, by the power of which sutra does it become correct? If it is by the power of inference, then inference is also very reasonable for this matter. The Copper-Colored Mountain is not a Yaksha, because there is the moisture of nectar, and the goddesses enjoy there, and the gods also fully enjoy the daughters of those goddesses, and some sons of the Thirty-Three (Trāyastriṃśa) gods, etc., have overwhelming power, to destroy them, to possess all that they enjoy, to be similar to the enjoyment of them and the Thirty-Three (Trāyastriṃśa), for the beings there to enjoy many pleasures, and all things similar to that, are similar to the sons of gods known as both in color, power, width, joy, play, strength, food, and other enjoyments. Just like the gods, etc., the direction is like that. Please consider how the Copper-Colored Mountain is regarded as a Yaksha, and all the Asuras are also like that. The monks use the definitive term "Gathering Goodness" to prevent the Asuras from being gods, and similarly, their definitive term also contradicts the gods. Because "Sura" means power, so "Surā" are the gods. Because it is obstructed, it is called Asura, meaning that there is no such power, which is very foolish. The so-called "not having fully accepted and abided in the Dharma of the gods" refers to the negation of slander, for example, even if it is one's own son, one would say "This is not my son" because he is a slanderer, and the Asuras are also like that. The so-called "having obscurations," some say, refers to being appropriately combined with the obscurations of karma and maturation, etc. Some say that even if one tries to understand, one cannot understand as it is, which is what "having obscurations" means. In this regard, even in all four categories of hell, namely the hot hells, cold hells, increasing hells, and neighboring hells, the differences
