Now, it seems that there are instances of engaging in all minor faults. The middling practice is to value discipline and samadhi, it should be understood. Among them, just as valuing discipline, it should also be understood that there is a sequence of faults. Those below this should be understood as individual ordinary people. The great practice is that of those who have seen the truth, because they respect all three trainings. This is the attainment of the fruit of a renunciate, therefore, for this one, there is no need to examine whether there is fortune or not. If these two practices exist, they will become four; if four exist, they will become two. Whoever has samadhi, certainly also has discipline. Whoever has wisdom, certainly also has samadhi. Whoever is certain to have discipline, does not necessarily have samadhi and wisdom. Whichever training a yogi values, that is what they perfect, if not, it should be understood that they only do it to that extent. Because one has completely abandoned the naturally blameworthy, it should be understood that discipline is perfect. Guarding the doors of the senses, etc., constantly and correctly taking up virtuous dharmas that help discipline, abiding is perfect virtue, it should be understood. Because one has completely abandoned the prescribed faults, it should be regarded that individual liberation is perfect. The disciplines that the noble ones rejoice in, as well as being skilled in the five aggregates, etc., the discipline of indication of correctly taking up the vows of individual liberation, combining in sequence with the perfection of discipline, etc., is the second case. There are two trainings: from the perspective of discipline, belonging to the correct taking up of what has not been abandoned, suitable as a cause for correctly taking up discipline, the training included in the special actions of body and speech; and the training included in the correct taking up of abandonment. These two cases, some are taught in the Vinaya, but not taught in the individual liberation. Some are also taught in the individual liberation. Therefore, gathering all these into one is called the three trainings, namely, higher conduct.

And, the higher discipline, and, the higher Pratimoksha. Abiding in the benefits of the precepts, liberated mainly by wisdom, holding the essence, those who strengthen mindfulness, the complete cultivation of the three trainings of these people will be completely perfect. The detailed explanation is like this: It should be understood as it appears in the Compendium of Explanations. The so-called "abiding in morality" is explained in detail as follows: It should be understood as it appears in the Śrāvakabhūmi. That morality is also the antidote to immoral morality, and because it is the basis for guarding the senses, it is called discipline. Because it is accepted from the beginning, it is perfect. Later, it is also guarded accordingly, so it is completely pure. Because it has lovely fruits, it is good. Because it is not afflictive, it is blameless. Because it corresponds to the samadhi of loving-kindness towards sentient beings, it is harmless. Because it corresponds to the meaning of the practice of a renunciate, it is compliant. Because it has become the nature of joy and peace for the noble ones, it is like a noble one. Because it does not correspond to holding morality and asceticism as supreme, it is not without means. Because it is the same as those who are in accordance with the Dharma, it is suitable. Because it abides in accordance with the cultivation of higher mind and higher wisdom, it is compliant. Because it does not harm others, and enters into benefiting, and completely abandons violent behavior, it is without affliction. Also, because there is no regret for taking it correctly, there is no remorse in the heart. Not doing evil deeds is regret, this is the detailed classification of morality. Relying on the other three, it should be understood as the detailed classification of higher mind and higher wisdom. Among them, the detailed classification of higher mind should be understood from the differences of the Brahmavihāras. The detailed classification of higher wisdom should be understood from the differences of the abiding of the Dharma that corresponds to the noble ones and the Bodhi-pakṣa. Among them, the four dhyānas and the four formless absorptions are the abodes of the gods. The four immeasurables are the abodes of Brahma. Knowing the four noble truths, and from the four mindfulnesses, etc., to the limbs of the path, etc., and the four paths, and Śamatha-vipassanā.
