That is to say, it should be understood that these fourteen minds belong to conduct. Among them, there are eight minds belonging to conduct that arise from the basis of a purified ground: complete gathering, distraction, near quiescence, and the interval between near quiescence and non-near quiescence. There are six minds belonging to conduct that arise from the basis of purified afflictions: extreme liberation and the interval between extreme liberation and non-extreme liberation. When there is obscuration within, one also clearly knows that one has obscuration; when there is no obscuration, one also clearly knows that one has no obscuration; one also clearly knows how an obscuration that has not yet arisen will arise; one also clearly knows how to separate from an obscuration that has already arisen. Regarding the binding of the eye and the intermediate binding of the mind, even if they exist, one also clearly knows that one has the intermediate binding of the mind; even if there is no intermediate binding of the mind, one also clearly knows that one has no intermediate binding of the mind; one also clearly knows how an intermediate binding of the mind that has not yet arisen will arise; one also clearly knows how one that has already arisen will cease. When there is mindfulness, the correct limb of enlightenment, within, one also clearly knows that one has mindfulness, the correct limb of enlightenment; when there is not, one also clearly knows that one does not; one also clearly knows how mindfulness, the correct limb of enlightenment, that has not yet arisen will arise; one also clearly knows how one that has arisen abides, is not forgotten, is completely cultivated, arises outwardly, increases, and expands. Just as with mindfulness, the correct limb of enlightenment, it should be understood similarly with regard to the limbs of perfect enlightenment such as discriminating dharma, diligence, joy, pliancy, samadhi, and equanimity. In this way, whatever completely knows all afflicted dharmas through the aspects of their nature, basis, faults, and antidotes, that is the body of the dharma mindfulness. Contemplating the body in the body.

As the mindfulness is taught, feelings, mind, and dharmas should also be understood accordingly. How does one abide contemplating the body in the inner body? How does one abide contemplating the body in the outer body? How does one abide contemplating the body in both the inner and outer bodies? When one counts sentient beings and abides contemplating the body in the inner body, that is abiding contemplating the body in the inner body. When one does not count sentient beings and focuses on the form of external objects, that is abiding contemplating the body in the outer body. When one counts sentient beings and focuses on the form of other external objects, that is abiding contemplating the body in both the inner and outer bodies. Here, counting sentient beings, relying on one's own inner body, whatever feelings, mind, and dharmas arise, focusing on them, that is abiding contemplating the Dharma in the inner feelings, mind, and dharmas. Not counting sentient beings, relying on the form of external objects, whatever feelings, mind, and dharmas arise, focusing on them, that is abiding contemplating the Dharma in the outer feelings, mind, and dharmas. Counting sentient beings, relying on the form of other sentient beings in external objects, whatever feelings, mind, and dharmas arise, focusing on them, that is abiding contemplating the Dharma in the inner and outer feelings, mind, and dharmas. Furthermore, focusing on the form grasped by the senses is abiding contemplating the body in the inner body. Focusing on the form not grasped by the senses, not grasped and not being grasped, is abiding contemplating the body in the outer body. Only the form grasped by the senses, grasped and being grasped, focusing on that inner form is abiding contemplating the body in both the inner and outer bodies. Likewise, focusing on whatever feelings, mind, and dharmas arise relying on those three forms, each accordingly focuses

Thus practicing is to abide in contemplation. Know it as before. Furthermore, whatever focuses on the extremely purified form of the meditative state is abiding in contemplation of the body on the inner body. Whatever focuses on the form of one's own body that is not in a meditative state and has faults is abiding in contemplation of the body on the outer body. Whatever focuses on the extremely purified form of another's body and has faults is abiding in contemplation of the body on both the inner and outer bodies. Similarly, one should understand accordingly the feelings, mind, and dharmas that arise based on these. Furthermore, focusing on the form of the inner element is abiding in contemplation of the body on the inner body. Focusing on the form of the outer element is abiding in contemplation of the body on the outer body. Focusing on the form that arises based on the element form, gathered into the senses and objects, and caused by it, is abiding in contemplation of the body on both the inner and outer bodies. Similarly, one should understand accordingly the feelings, mind, and dharmas that arise based on these. Furthermore, when one focuses on the body together with the inner consciousness, it is abiding in contemplation of the body on the inner body. Focusing on the form of a sentient being that is without consciousness, having become a state of abandonment, etc., is abiding in contemplation of the body on the outer body. Focusing on the similarity of the dharma and the equality of the dharma, where the form without consciousness in the past had consciousness, and the form with consciousness in the future will become without consciousness, is abiding in contemplation of the body on both the inner and outer bodies. Similarly, the feelings, mind, and dharmas that arise based on these
