places them in the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle and brings them to maturity. Those of the Buddha lineage are brought to maturity in the Great Vehicle, this is the meaning. Who brings them to maturity? Therefore, the term "beings or bodies" is mentioned, meaning that all sentient beings, such as those without lineage, those of the Hearer lineage, and those of the Pratyekabuddha lineage, are brought to maturity. By what cause are they brought to maturity? Therefore, the term "compassion" is mentioned, meaning that beings are brought to maturity by the cause of loving-kindness towards sentient beings. By whom are they brought to maturity? Therefore, the term "Bodhisattva that" is mentioned, meaning that the one who brings them to maturity is the Bodhisattva, the Bodhisattva brings them to maturity. In how many ways and how does one bring them to maturity? Therefore, the term "by means of the small, the supreme, and the middling" is mentioned, meaning that Bodhisattvas who abide on the grounds of adhimukticarya, because they have not abandoned grasping and the grasped, and because the accumulation of merit and wisdom is small, are called small themselves. By placing others on the ground of adhimukticarya, because they have not abandoned grasping and the grasped, and because they are placed in a state where the accumulation of merit and wisdom is small, they are said to bring them to maturity in a small way. When Bodhisattvas abide on the eighth, ninth, and tenth grounds, they themselves also attain the spontaneously accomplished non-conceptual, abide in a great accumulation of merit and wisdom, and when they place others on those three grounds, they cause them to attain the spontaneously accomplished non-conceptual, and they are placed in a great accumulation of merit and wisdom, so it is called bringing them to maturity in a supreme way. When Bodhisattvas abide on the first ground up to and including the seventh,

How does one bring it to maturity? Therefore, it is said, "Subdues by engaging equally with the world." As long as the extent of the sky exists, so too does the realm of sentient beings. As long as the realm of the world exists, so too does the realm of sentient beings. Because as long as the realm of sentient beings exists, sentient beings are brought to complete maturity, therefore it is said, "Subdues by engaging equally with the world." The chapter on complete maturation is finished. After explaining the chapter on complete maturation, what is the connection to explaining the chapter on all-knowing aspects? Thus, the Bodhisattva also completely matures the roots of virtue in the continuum of sentient beings, and also completely matures the roots of virtue in the continuum of his own mind. Therefore, by quickly attaining the unsurpassed Bodhi, there is a connection to explaining the chapter on all-knowing aspects after the chapter on complete maturation. Alternatively, the benefit of self and others, the benefit of otherness, as well as power and complete maturation, and unsurpassed Bodhi, these five things are made the object of the Bodhisattva's training. Among these, with the mind of Bodhi, one desires to attain unsurpassed Bodhi and makes vows. Then, what is the necessity of attaining Bodhi? It is necessary to perfect the benefit of self and others, therefore, after that, the chapter on the benefit of self and others is explained. Entering into the benefit of self and others also makes oneself unpolluted by all afflictions, therefore the method of not being polluted by all afflictions, the chapter on otherness, is explained. Even if one is not polluted by all afflictions, if one has no power, one will become weary of benefiting sentient beings, therefore, in order not to be weary of the work of taming sentient beings, the chapter on power is explained. Thus, with these two, otherness and power, the Bodhisattva completely matures the Dharma of the Buddha and also completely matures sentient beings. How is it done? Because, if the Bodhisattva understands otherness, the nine qualities such as joy in his own continuum are mostly quickly accomplished and obtained, but if he does not understand otherness, they will not be accomplished. Therefore, after understanding otherness, one's own
