Just as it is effective, the language of the Buddha Bhagavan can also enter the mindstream of the listener, and even if the language is interrupted, the intention to listen can arise, so it is like the sound of the Kalaviṅka bird. Because of its melodiousness, it is like the voice of Brahma, so it is said. For example, the voice of Brahma is melodious because it is not near, melodious and uninterrupted, similarly, the language of the Tathagata is also melodious and pleasant to hear, not hurried, so it is like the voice of Brahma. In order to precede all accomplishments and auspiciousness, it is said to be like the sound of the Jivajivaka bird. For example, when sentient beings go to seek a purpose, if they hear the sound of the Jivajivaka bird, all purposes will undoubtedly be accomplished. Its sound is like a harbinger of auspiciousness for accomplishing purposes, similarly, the language of the Tathagata is also a harbinger of auspiciousness for accomplishing all worldly and transmundane purposes, therefore, it is like the sound of the Jivajivaka bird. Because after hearing the language of the Tathagata, all worldly and transmundane purposes will be accomplished. In order to be inviolable, it is said to be like the voice of the Lord of the Gods. For example, the voice and words of the hundred thousand gods, other gods cannot slightly violate or obstruct, similarly, the teachings of the Tathagata, gods, nagas, yakshas, etc., cannot violate or break, therefore it is like the pleasant voice of the Lord of the Gods. For example, like the venerable Ananda, even if he did not believe in ordination, the Buddha asked, 'Will you not ordain?' Because he could not violate the Buddha's teachings, he promised to ordain. In order to overcome the attacks of all demons and to lead, it is said to be like the sound of a drum. For example, on the battlefield, when a battle is launched, when others are defeated and victory is obtained, as a sign of victory, the sound of a drum is first sounded, similarly, the Tathagata also overcame demons and heretics, etc., and first uttered the sound of turning the wheel of Dharma, therefore it is like the sound of a drum.

English

It is called like a pleasant sound. Praising is also not done, because there is no affliction, it is called not doing. When the Tathagata teaches the Dharma, others say: The Sugata's teaching of the Dharma is virtuous. Although praised as well-spoken, there is no affliction of pride in thinking 'I am superior,' so it is called not doing. Even if criticized, one is not discouraged, because there is no affliction, it is called not being discouraged. Others say: Your teaching of the Dharma is a fault. Although criticized, there is no affliction of thinking 'I am inferior,' so it is called not being discouraged. Because one enters into all aspects of the characteristics of all expressions, one thoroughly enters into all sounds, it is called thoroughly entering into all sounds. Expression is prophecy, such as predicting that Sravakas, Bodhisattvas, and great kings will appear in the future. This is called expression. Because one can prophesy how Sravakas and others will appear in the three times, it is called thoroughly entering into all aspects of the characteristics of all expressions, that is, thoroughly entering into all sounds. Thus, because one can prophesy all things of the three times, it is called thoroughly entering into all sounds. Alternatively, being skilled in all sciences of grammar among the five sciences is called entering into all aspects of the characteristics of all expressions, therefore it is called thoroughly entering into all sounds. Because there is no time when one does not speak when speaking, and there is no omission, it is called complete. The Tathagata always maintains single-pointed concentration. Because there is no forgetting in speaking such Dharmas, it is called complete. Furthermore, thinking about how to speak this Dharma, there is no instance of forgetting and not speaking at the time of speaking, so it is called complete. Because one always abides in the activity of subduing, it is called perfect. The activity of subduing is to cause sentient beings who have not generated roots of virtue to generate them, to cause those who have generated them to increase and grow, and to cause those who have increased and grown to be liberated. This is called the activity of subduing. Because one does not neglect the activities of subduing even for a moment, and always thinks about how to accomplish their meaning, it is called perfect.
