The doctrine that is taught, along with its basis, is the Sambhogakaya (enjoyment body), which is free from the two obscurations, because the non-dual wisdom is experienced by oneself. And the emanation for the sake of others is the Nirmanakaya (emanation body), because this body turns the wheel of Dharma in Jambudvipa (the continent of the rose apple tree) and performs the benefit of sentient beings. And its basis is the Dharmakaya (dharma body), because the Dharmakaya is the support and place of the Sambhogakaya and the Nirmanakaya. The Sutra states, "All Tathagatas are equal," and "The bodies of all Tathagatas are eternal." To explain this meaning, it is said in verse: "The place and the intention, and the action are considered the same." With three kinds of equality, all Tathagatas are the same, without difference, so all Buddhas are called equal. The three kinds of equality are equality of place, equality of intention, and equality of action. Among them, equality of place is the Dharmakaya, because the nature of the two bodies as the basis, the realm of Dharma is completely pure, without any difference. Equality of intention is the Sambhogakaya, because all Sambhogakayas have no difference in the size or goodness of intention, and all have the same intention to benefit and bring happiness to sentient beings. The same action is the Nirmanakaya, because all Nirmanakayas are similar in taming sentient beings through the activity of emanation after emanation, and if one Tathagata emanates an emanation, other Tathagatas also emanate the same emanation, because the activity is common, so it is called the same action. To explain the meaning of permanence, it is said: "Nature and continuity are uninterrupted, by continuity they are permanent." Among them, with three kinds of permanence, it is said that the bodies of all Tathagatas are permanent, the three kinds of permanence are permanence of nature, uninterrupted permanence, and continuous permanence. Among them, permanence of nature is the Dharmakaya, because the nature of the Dharmakaya is without birth and death. Uninterrupted permanence is the Sambhogakaya.
