Subsequently, by explaining the ten powers, four fearlessnesses, and eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, the qualities of the Buddha are clarified. Following that explanation, by explaining the unsurpassed activities of the Tathagata, the thirty-two activities of the Buddha are clarified. Thus, these seven vajra places should be understood extensively by explaining their respective characteristics, as it is in the Sutra. What is the connection between these? From the Buddha comes the Dharma, from the Dharma comes the noble Sangha. From the Sangha, ultimately, the essence, the wisdom realm, is obtained. Having obtained that wisdom, one obtains supreme enlightenment, etc. For the benefit of all sentient beings, all these Dharmas are endowed with faith. The connection of the treatise has been explained. Now, the meaning of the verses will be explained: Whatever sentient beings are tamed by the Tathagata, they go for refuge to the Tathagata. Due to the common cause of Dharma-nature, they also go for refuge to the Dharma and the Sangha with joy. Therefore, since that is the very first, it is attributed to the Buddha Jewel. Verse: One who is without beginning, middle, and end, the peaceful Buddha, self-enlightened, self-perfected Buddha. From the Buddha, in order to realize what has not been realized, he shows the indestructible, eternal path. Holding the sword of wisdom and compassion, the supreme vajra, he cuts the sprouts of suffering, surrounded by a dense fog of various views, he destroys the walls of doubt, to him I prostrate. What does this show? Uncreated and spontaneously accomplished, not realized by other conditions, endowed with wisdom, compassion, and power, the Buddha who possesses the two benefits. This, in brief, speaks of the Buddha who possesses eight qualities. What are the eight qualities? Namely, uncreated, spontaneously accomplished, not realized by other conditions, wisdom, compassion, power, self-benefit perfectly complete, and other-benefit perfectly complete. Without beginning, middle, and end, because it is self-nature, it is uncreated. Peaceful, possessing the Dharmakaya, therefore it is said to be spontaneously accomplished. Because it is to be realized by each individual themselves, it is not realized by other conditions. Thus, realizing the three aspects, therefore it is wisdom. Because it is a guide, therefore it is compassion. Power.
