When chewing, food gets stuck between the lips and teeth, and the dirt from the teeth, skin, and saliva mix together, making it impossible to eat. The whole body is impure. As some say: Food, as well as feces, life, and saliva, even after washing, remain in the body, therefore, the wise consider it impure. Some monks think that milk and meat make the penis bigger and abandon foods associated with them. However, for those who do not cultivate the body, beans, meat, sesame, oil, raw wheat flour, etc., also make the penis bigger. Therefore, distinguishing between clean and unclean is being arrogant about discipline and asceticism, and those who have renounced the world should completely abandon it. Foods like sesame, latu, vegetables, grains, and wild grains neither prevent attachment to self nor bring peace, therefore, for those who contemplate the Dharma, distinguishing between clean and unclean is being arrogant about discipline and asceticism. Those respective subjects should be recited in the ultimate perfection of the arising stage. Visualize the Buddha of the arising stage, with a protuberance on his head, protecting all, dispelling wrong views, etc., these should be imitated according to the Buddha of the arising stage. Regarding the aggregates, elements, sense bases, dependent origination, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, the ten powers, the fearlessnesses, etc., spoken by the Buddha, some practitioners are there making fabrications, robbing, and making distinctions. Kapalikas and those with staffs think that honey and meat are inherently the root of sin. Then, why wouldn't their other foods, such as rice and green beans, become the root of sin? Therefore, one should completely abandon killing and completely abandon the craving for taste in all foods. As the Samadhiraja Sutra says: The wise, intelligent, and virtuous should eat a small amount of clean and good food, eat without greed in order to achieve yoga, that will not become abandoned food. Therefore, merely abandoning milk and meat, etc., does not lead to liberation.

It is not just that, but if you completely abandon all realms, you will be liberated. Others believe that there is no fault in eating meat, no fault in drinking alcohol, and no fault in engaging in sexual activity. That is attachment to the world, and cutting off attachment has great consequences. That is to say, cutting off attachment to the world and being liberated from the suffering of samsara has great consequences. Attachment comes from attachment to the self, and craving for realms such as meat, for those who are deluded, is connected to the suffering of samsara, just like a moth flying into a flame. The measure of this is that whatever is connected to the suffering of samsara arises from attachment to the self and delusion, just like a moth flying into a flame. In samsara, there are also birth, old age, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, pain, frustration, and entering into a state of delusion, which are called being connected to suffering. Therefore, attachment to the self, stinginess, harming others, etc., are all inferences of craving. If suffering were to follow without the activity of wrong knowledge, then even if silent wisdom has arisen, or like a valley, one has abandoned the realm, one would still fall into it. This is the measure of harming unfavorable factors. Others believe that giving alms to those who regard grain etc. as life will also become a sin. Why is that? Because attachment to the self and wrong knowledge cause the suffering of samsara. Knowing no-self and being free from desire can prevent the suffering of samsara. Therefore, there is no need to distinguish between dirty and clean, edible and inedible, etc. Various kinds of ornaments, jewels, etc., as well as smearing ashes, carrying dirt, the behavior of cows and deer, bathing, not eating food, etc., or fire offerings, etc., whatever it may be, if one cannot be liberated from desire, one cannot be liberated from attachment to the self. The peaceful ones say: stealing gold etc., eating beef, killing thousands of Brahmins, if one truly awakens, one will not be tainted. Existing things are actions, causes and non-causes destroy the world, drink
