There is. Aging and death come later. For birth, there is no aging and death. Even if born, one will transform without death. This means that where those beginnings and endings do not enter together in sequence, then for the dharmas of birth and death, for all things at all times, what kind of birth will be induced? What kind of death is there for aging? Without aging and death, what kind of thing will exist? That is so. If it does not perish in an instant, then how is the non-self of dharma and person established? However, just as with dreams and illusions, the non-existence of those momentary things of other's dependence with two aspects does not harm the momentary things of the perfectly established, so how can there be no things? The very absence of inherent existence in the ultimate truth is emptiness with two aspects, without thought and without appearance, the supremely pure and non-dual truth of the ultimate truth, truly knowing and experiencing is not the absence of things. Therefore, there is no belief in what is to be known and what is known, and in examining things for the sake of things, and in what is called perfectly accomplished by other's dependence. This is the way in which the work of harming the Dharma is accomplished, as it appears in the *Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra*. Realizing the non-self of the person like a dream, etc., is manifestly attached to the grasper and the grasped. Therefore, the Śrāvakas realize the non-self of the person. Like a dream, those wisdoms are two-fold, not non-dual. Because the mind is defiled, therefore they do not realize the *Tathāgatagarbha*. After completely knowing the non-self of phenomena, when the knowledge of two aspects, the appearance of body, enjoyment, and place becomes extremely intense, the basis of wisdom, like a mirror, is completely purified and non-dual in knowledge as it is, and those appearances of consciousness entering through the eyes, etc., do not exist and are completely transformed in a non-dual way. Those are the samādhi with appearances. For the omniscient one, the five consciousnesses entering through the eyes, etc., are transformed into individual discriminating wisdom. When the afflicted mind becomes intense, the wisdom of equality

It is called wisdom. In the aspect of entering, among the six wisdom holders, the consciousness of mind is referred to as the wisdom of diligence. At that time, the Alaya-vijñāna is completely transformed, and the seven also change accordingly, because the afflictions and the seven afflictions are its cause and are focused on it. When one fully understands the selflessness of phenomena and persons as they truly are, and thus fully understands the five dharmas, then the non-dual wisdom becomes the sole ultimate truth. Although the five dharmas have already been explained, for the purpose of explaining the scriptures, it should be added: name, sign, concept, suchness, and true wisdom. The Śrāvakas fully grasp the aspect of duality and fully understand the selflessness of things as in a dream. For those who speak of external objects as real, the Alaya-vijñāna will be strongly transformed, like being manifestly attached to the grasping and the grasped. Therefore, fully understanding the selflessness of phenomena eliminates the obscuration of knowledge. Fully understanding the selflessness of persons eliminates the obscuration of afflictions. Similarly, when attachment to self and what belongs to self disappears, karmic obscurations are also eliminated. Thus, fully understanding meditative stabilization with and without appearance, and by means of the grounds and perfections, one perfects the accumulation of merit and wisdom, and benefiting all beings, one becomes the all-knowing Buddha who knows all actions. In the utterly pure ground, from understanding the selflessness of persons and phenomena, because there is no object of manifest attachment to self and what belongs to self, for the benefit of all sentient beings, one completely abandons grasping, thereby perfecting the perfection of generosity. In the stainless ground, in order to eliminate the two stains, one perfects the perfection of ethical discipline. In the illuminating ground, because there is no disturbance of duality, it is the perfection of patience. In the radiating ground, because one delights in examining the non-dual dharma with wisdom, it is the perfection of diligence. In the extremely difficult to conquer ground, one is able to conquer the afflictions that are difficult to conquer, because one understands the selflessness of persons and phenomena.
