The cushion, and the explanation that distinguishes them. Therefore, with "in order to gather the things of the ritual of proper acceptance," etc., it shows the explanation that distinguishes the seven aspects of the second characteristic. This is also divided into seven categories from the explanation of the seven characteristics themselves. This is the explanation of the characteristic of the first ritual of proper acceptance. This is the explanation of the ritual of properly accepting the precepts, so it is called the thing of the ritual of proper acceptance. In the Sutra Unraveling the Knots, it says that it shows the conduct of proper acceptance. In the Profound Meaning Unraveling Sutra, it says that it shows the Dharma of proper acceptance. The extensive explanation of this Dharma of properly accepting vows should be understood as taught in the Bodhisattva Ground within the Treatise on the Grounds of Yoga Practice. Furthermore, the so-called ritual of properly accepting vows is as stated in the Treatise on the Grounds of Yoga Practice: "How is the ritual perfect? It is like this: depending on conduct, or temporary activities, or the application of virtuous things, it conforms to the world and does not contradict the world, it conforms to discipline and does not contradict discipline, therefore it is called a perfect ritual." Such as this, extensively as explained therein. The Treatise on Distinctions also teaches in this way. The so-called "in order to show things like the place of defeat" is the explanation of the characteristic of the second thing like the place of defeat. Thus, if the faults of the four heavy ones arise, then inevitably one will be overcome by the afflictions of defeat, and therefore one will be defeated from the Bodhisattva. That defeat also has four aspects. As stated in the Treatise on the Grounds of Yoga Practice: "Being extremely attached to gain and respect, praising oneself and disparaging others, being stingy and not giving wealth and Dharma to sentient beings, striking sentient beings with an angry mind and speaking harsh words, whoever slanders the Bodhisattva Pitaka and teaches wrong Dharma, these are called the four defeats."

Just like that, as shown in detail from there. Or, there are ten defeats. On top of the previous four, also adding killing, taking what is not given, sexual misconduct, lying, selling alcohol, and speaking of others' faults, one should understand as stated in the Brahma-jala Sutra and the Garland Sutra. To show things like the place of falling, it is called the third to show the characteristics of the object of falling. These are the lighter offenses other than that, such as the forty-eight defilements spoken of in the Arya Brahma-jala Sutra, and the Yogacarabhumi-sastra, which shows the lighter offenses, etc., in detail as shown therein. To show the nature of having fallen, it is called the fourth to show the nature of having fallen. Furthermore, what is called the nature of having fallen is, as in the Yogacarabhumi-sastra, the showing of offenses that arise from transgression, etc., as it says in that very treatise: If a Bodhisattva who abides in the complete purity of the Bodhisattva vows, even for a single day, the act of offering to the Three Jewels, whether small or large, even if it is only a single prostration with the body, even starting from the Three Jewels, only reciting a single verse of four lines, even if there is not even a single joy that precedes the recollection of the qualities of the Three Jewels, and the day and night pass, then it becomes sinful and transgressive. Like this, the showing up to the extensive explanation, etc., in order to show the nature of not having fallen, is called the fifth to show the nature of not having fallen, that is, the very absence of offenses that have been prescribed. Or, as it says in the Yogacarabhumi-sastra, there is completely no offense when the mind is disturbed and afflicted by painful feelings, and for those who have not taken vows, it should be known that there is completely no offense. Furthermore, as it says in the Yogacarabhumi-sastra, there are four types of no offense, three are the same as previously stated, and it is also shown from the initial karma. In order to show what arises from falling
