The phrase "in order to fully understand the place of practicing wrongly" means fully understanding the truth of suffering in the desire realm. The path of taking life and so on arises from relying on the idea of sentient beings, and it necessarily arises from first generating the idea of sentient beings. The phrase "towards external sentient beings" indicates the path of initiating actions. The phrase "practicing wrongly" refers to the very action of karma generated by it, which is to say, by fully understanding the truth of suffering in the desire realm, starting from the idea of sentient beings, towards external sentient beings, in order to fully understand the very place of practicing wrongly, thus it will be shown. The phrase "in order to fully understand the place of being free from inner manifest pride" means fully understanding that the inner body of the form realm is the very truth of suffering. Like this, because all the afflictions of the two upper realms arise from relying on the inner body, it is said "free from inner manifest pride." Some say that the first two full understandings are only of the desire realm. Some say that the third full understanding is understanding the two upper realms. Others say as in the previous explanation. Some say that these three are, in order, fully understanding the suffering of the three realms. Although there are so many different explanations, the teacher Xuanzang, based on the commentary on the *Yogācārabhūmi*, said that the second explanation is better. The terms "object of meditation," "object to be manifested," and "object of contemplation" refer to the second, which is abandoning the origin, manifesting cessation, and showing the object of contemplating the path. This is also because the truth of origin is the two afflictions that are incompatible with meditation, so it is called the object of meditation. Cessation is unconditioned, so it is called the object to be manifested. The noble path is called the object of contemplation. Therefore, in the sutras and treatises it is said, "Suffering should be fully understood, the path should be cultivated." The object of making its essence and its
