In all realms, it is said that "reliance is the same" because it constantly arises, meaning that it functions like the senses and consciousness. The second is that it is the same as that, because the senses are separate from consciousness and constantly give rise to their own kind of appearance. Therefore, although the senses do not unite with consciousness, their own nature constantly gives rise to an appearance like the senses, and it is said to be the same as that in the sense of being like the senses. That is, one part of the form aggregate, and the realm of form, and one part of the five inner sources are the same in reliance, and the same as that. In the Treatise on the Stages of Yoga Practice, it is also taught based on the five inner sources. Therefore, it says in that very text: "Among the eighteen realms, how many are the same? How many are the same as that?" It is said: "The eye realm together with consciousness is the same. Other than that is the same as those." Just as with the eye realm, so it is up to the body realm. That which is the same and the same as that is to be considered from among the inner realms that are included by the senses, and not from among the outer realms such as form. The dharma realm together with its object is to be regarded as the same in nature as the mind realm, and that which has no object is like form and so on. Likewise, it should also be understood in the case of the ear and so on together with consciousness. The eye's consciousness Those who follow along with consciousness and so on, when the eye consciousness arises, the discriminating mind consciousness inevitably follows at the same time, showing that it focuses on one object. Conditioned by the ear, nose, tongue, body, and sound, smell, taste, and touch, which are together with consciousness, the consciousness of the ear, nose, tongue, and body arises. It is said that the discriminating mind consciousness, which follows along with the consciousness of the ear, nose, tongue, and body, at the same time, and with the same sphere of activity, also functions. This means that the second four other consciousnesses are also those of the mind.

It is said to be together with understanding. It should be understood as before. Wise One, if at that time only one eye consciousness arises, then, at that time, only one discriminating mind consciousness also arises together with the eye consciousness, what follows is the second, the five kinds of mind consciousness are explained by distinguishing the number of occurrences together. This also relies on two ways, namely, the mind consciousness is explained to arise together with the eye consciousness, and the mind consciousness is explained to arise together with two, three, four, or five consciousnesses such as the eye. This is the first, the mind consciousness is explained to arise together with the eye consciousness, because it is the same for one object. If at that time two, three, four, or five aggregates of consciousness arise together, then, at that time, only one discriminating mind consciousness also arises together with the five aggregates of consciousness. This is called the second, the mind consciousness is explained to arise together with the eye and other consciousnesses. Depending on the number of objects to be observed, the mind consciousness also arises together with the eye and other consciousnesses, so the number is not fixed. In the "Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra," it says "non-discriminating mind consciousness," and in the "Definitive Word Explanation Sūtra," it says "discriminating mind consciousness," therefore, in accordance with this example, it should be known that saying "discriminating" is not wrong. Wise One, for example, when a great river flows, if the cause for the occurrence of one wave is near, then only one wave occurs, what follows is the second, explaining by using metaphors. This can also be divided into two types, namely, the metaphor of the number of water waves, and the metaphor of the number of mirror images. The difference between the two previous and subsequent metaphors is also different in their respective explanations. Some say that the intention of proclaiming the two metaphors is different from each other, the teacher...

In the "Record of Correct and True Words," as it is said, the arising of water waves is an analogy showing that the six consciousnesses are the same in arising and ceasing with the root consciousness. The appearance of images from the center of a mirror is an analogy showing that the arising of consciousnesses, the nature of the root consciousness, does not transform into the six consciousnesses. Like that and so on. Some say that the intention of the two analogies is not different, because both are used as analogies for the simultaneous functioning of the consciousnesses, as explained in the "Yogacarabhumi-sastra" and the "Vibhajyavada." Here, The two analogies explained are also different from the treatises, because in some treatises, the two analogies are explained to clearly show the difference between the place and the dweller, as it is said in the "Yogacarabhumi-sastra," establishing in the manner of ultimate truth, what is entering? In short, there are two kinds of consciousness: the alaya-vijnana and the entering consciousness. Among these, the alaya-vijnana is the place. The entering consciousness is the dweller, and there are seven types: from eye consciousness to mind consciousness. For example, like a stream of water and waves, or a mirror and images. Thus, this is the distinction between the place and the dweller established in the manner of ultimate truth. In some treatises, it is said to clearly show that the eighth and seventh consciousnesses function together, as explained in the "Yogacarabhumi-sastra" and the "Vibhajyavada." In some treatises, it is said to clearly show that there is no difference between the eighth and seventh consciousnesses, as it is said in the "Vijnaptimatrata-siddhi," the nature of the eight consciousnesses cannot be definitely said to be of one nature, because the place, conditions, and associated factors are different, and when one ceases, the other does not cease, and the nature of the command and the commanded are each different. But they are not absolutely different either,
