Since forms and so on are without inherent existence, but ordinary beings wander in samsara due to their inverted conceptualizations, composing treatises is not meaningless in order to separate from that ignorance. The former is to prevent wrong views, and here it should be understood as refuting the meaninglessness of composing treatises. If someone objects, saying, "If these are merely errors of the mind, how can the mind itself fully know the mind itself?" To refute this, the example of a magician is given. In this case, the magician is like the mere awareness of mental activity. The illusion should be understood as meaningless. Eating and so on should be understood as being without even mental activity, appearing as accumulations and so on. If the wisdom of the noble ones does not see things as they truly are, how can transcendental wisdom arise from not seeing things as they truly are? To refute this, the example of two sticks is given. The two sticks are like properly and individually examining things. The arising of fire from friction is like the arising of wisdom, showing that even the proper and individual examination should be abandoned after it arises. If someone objects, saying, "Whether wisdom has arisen or not, how can it become an antidote to ignorance?" To refute this, the example of a lamp is given, showing that although wisdom has no function, it immediately becomes an antidote to ignorance as soon as it arises. If someone objects, saying, "How can afflictions from beginningless time be eliminated by an antidote that has a beginning?" To refute this, the example of two lamps is given, briefly showing the Middle Way. Explaining it extensively, it should be understood as establishing the precepts of a Bodhisattva who abides in genuine practice. A Bodhisattva abiding in the Dharma is showing the truth of the establishment explained in the manner of conventional truth, Not clinging to the literal meaning of scriptures of provisional meaning, and for these two reasons, not following the sutras that are highly compatible with the Hearer Vehicle, but after having passed beyond them, becoming skilled in them, and from them establishing the profound Dharma of emptiness that is highly compatible with the Great Vehicle, as well as gathering the truth of establishment and non-establishment, thereby showing the nature of the Dharmadhatu, which reveals the conventional and ultimate truths in one way.

By becoming the basis of the definitive meaning, becoming a wise person, because of that reason, following and combining, it is called proper application. By proper application, one enters the Middle Way. Thus, the Middle Way is shown in thirteen aspects: showing the emptiness of the person, and the selflessness of the person and the emptiness of phenomena, and the selflessness of phenomena, and the extreme of superimposition, and the extreme of denigration, and the clear realization of phenomena, and completely dedicating it to the Great Bodhi, thus entering without being controlled by both afflictions and suffering, and the difference in faith in the two kinds of selflessness, and the former selflessness becoming the cause of the latter selflessness, and the ultimate of emptiness, and showing the power of that. Among them, how does one show the emptiness of the person? In one way, it is completely shown as unattainable, because it is said, "One individually understands the selflessness of the person." The aggregates, etc., of sentient beings, and the various elements of them, and the sense bases of their enjoyment, in the three kinds of things, the self is unattainable, from the inside and outside and the middle where both are absent, the self conceived by children is unattainable, thus completely showing the unattainability, therefore completely showing the emptiness of the person. How does one show the selflessness of the person? In one way, it completely shows the attainable, because it is said, "One does not think of that attainable as permanent." The three things, the dependent arising conceived by children, one does not think of that as permanent, therefore, unlike the self conceived by children, one can attain the impermanence of the aggregates, thus completely proclaiming the nature of selflessness, therefore showing the selflessness of the person who dwells in things. How does one show the emptiness of phenomena? In one way, it is completely shown as unattainable, because it is said, "One does not think of impermanence as impermanent." Among them, this unattainability is: one does not think of the unspeakable thing, thus superimposing, whatever is the nature of the nominal term conceived by children, that thing is grasped by impermanence, in that inner and...
