Those mistakes made out of not understanding the Buddha's intention, if repeated continuously in order to pursue higher realms, will only lead to harm. If it is thought that doing so is to bring light, the result will only be darkness. Would it be like that? It won't be like that, this will become a method. Therefore, the intense pain of sorrow cannot be eliminated until it is struck by another arrow of the greatest, supreme joy, because the antidote to sorrow is joy. The Tathagatas also, precisely because they did not see that the object to be tamed at that time had a joy more supreme than this, thought that doing so was to wash away sins, so they said such words. In this way, he is freed from the obscuration of regret and made into a vessel capable of receiving the Dharma. Then, the Dharma is spoken to him in that way. Therefore, by establishing trust in karma and its fruits in his mind, he will only devote himself to doing good. The Tathagatas have long known that by eliminating this pain of sorrow, it is also possible to uproot the arrow of pain that slanders karma and its fruits. For example, because one is too attached to a beautiful woman and cannot enter the samadhi of ugliness, one eliminates this attachment by arousing attachment to a superior goddess in his mind, and then eliminates the attachment to the goddess by other means, eventually making him completely free from all desires. Again, for a person possessed by a ghost, the mantra practitioner is sure that this poison will surely eliminate the poison in his body, so he lets him eat the poison, and eventually the poison itself disappears. The Tathagatas are also like that. Similarly, in the Sutra of the Noble Jewel Cloud, it is also said that if a Bodhisattva sees a sentient being who commits the five inexpiable sins in great pain, he will say to him: 'You have not been killed, so you will not all fall into the lower realms.' and so on. The so-called "Discernment of the Uncertain" refers to discerning uncertain things and causing them to cease. From where does it cease? It comes from the great Bodhicitta. Those Bodhisattvas whose faculties are uncertain, if they do not strive in the Paramitas, do not have firm faith, and are mistaken in their minds at every moment,

Driven by intense suffering, those who desire the cessation of suffering, such as the Shravakas, and those who are uncertain whether they belong to the Shravaka lineage, if they strive in that vehicle, then for them, this becomes an obstacle, hindering them from sitting on the great Bodhi lion throne, which has unobstructed power in all realms. Therefore, to counteract this eighth fault of interruption, the prediction of Buddhahood for the great Shravakas is proclaimed, and this supreme vehicle, which proclaims the One Vehicle, is taught. Those who hear this will think: Even if one goes a long way through the Shravaka vehicle, one must eventually enter the Mahayana, so why is this dual effort necessary? It is easier to enter here from the beginning. As it is said in the Ornament of the Sutras: For the sake of guiding some, and for the sake of completely gathering some, the perfect Buddhas taught the One Vehicle to those who are uncertain. Like this. This will not become the fault of lying, because they have great compassion, accomplish the benefit of beings, and have the intention of eliminating harm. This will not deceive anyone either, because those elders will also know: Although we will not become Buddhas, the Bhagavan taught with that in mind. All of them are like actors, making gestures to please beings, and the essence of lying is deception. On the other hand, they are actually Bodhisattvas, only for the sake of benefiting those beings who should be tamed by the Shravakas, they have made such disguises. It is precisely for that purpose that other Tathagatas from other realms have urged, and Bodhisattvas with such disguises have come. Shravakas and Bodhisattvas are taught as the One Vehicle because they are equal and undifferentiated in selflessness, and because they are ultimately perfect. For example, some people would say: The king is like this, only a Chakravartin, because he has reached the ultimate with all perfections, and there is no monarch or leader in his place. However, small kings, etc.
