"Having rejoiced" means a humble ending. Since both Bodhisattvas and renunciants are referred to as lamas, they only exchanged words of joy, without prostrating to each other or the like. If they were to prostrate to each other, they would not be lamas, and there would be no end to it. "Having gathered" means that when gathered, it should not be for too long. "Sitting on a stone slab" means that at that time, they were also close to the stone slab, and because they were very eager to thoroughly understand the Dharma, they sat there, not on good cushions. "Then" means after that. The noble Shariputra was the best of those with wisdom, and Maitreya was also very close to enlightenment, so he was happy to ask him. "Here" means Rajagriha, or a conjunction in the sentence. "Salu green" means Salu green. Looking at it means showing both the external dependent origination and the internal one without distinction, because both are selfless and depend on causes and conditions, so they are similar. At that time, because that Dharma was taught to the monks and they were disciplined, this sutra was taught to them. Why did the Blessed One not say anything? Although someone like me cannot understand the Blessed One's intention, if that sign is stated, then those monks who are arrogant, thinking that we understand through questioning, will abandon their arrogance, and the Bodhisattvas will also explain the meaning of the very profound, thus praising greatness, and that alone completely fulfills the need for explanation. "What meaning" means a hidden intention, and is synonymous with "what intention." The Blessed One taught the Dharma with four hidden intentions and four intentions, namely, hidden intentions for introduction, hidden intentions for characteristics, hidden intentions for antidotes, hidden intentions for transformation, as well as intentions for equality, intentions for other meanings, intentions for other times, and intentions for people. Among these, here is a synonym for considering from what aspect. If you see any contradiction here, then ask about hidden intentions and intentions.

Thinking thus: The phenomena that are the cause and effect, such as ignorance, and are associated with defilements, are said to be the sound of dependent origination. The undefiled path and the unconditioned Nirvana are said to be the sound of Dharma. The undefiled Dharma that leads to Buddhahood is said to be the sound of Buddha. If all these have different natures, how can one see dependent origination in a different way and thus see the Dharma? How can one see the Buddha by seeing the different Dharma? Therefore, just as seeing form and sound, etc., this will also be different, so I thought. If others think that there is dependent origination here, what are those standards like? Thinking about this, it is said what is dependent origination, what is Dharma, and what is Buddha. Because it is not thought of as dependent origination, etc., how can one see the Dharma and the Buddha by seeing dependent origination? The beginning of the debate has been said. Now, the noble Maitreya repeats the words of the Blessed One with "Bhagavan" etc., and shows the meaning of what should be fully understood etc. with "What is dependent origination" etc., and will also explain the intention and the hidden intention of the Blessed One. "Bhagavan" is a word of offering. "Lord of Dharma" means being independent of all dharmas. That is to say, the Blessed One is independent in explaining all dharmas, so these words are spoken to show that everything should be treated as valid. In order to establish the Lord of Dharma, "Omniscient" is spoken, because he is omniscient, therefore he is the Lord of Dharma, therefore he is valid, this is showing fame. Who is dependent origination, this is fame, is a synonym for "what is that". With "This, conditioned by ignorance, there are actions" etc., the power of ignorance etc. is determined, undoubtedly the things of cause and effect, that is dependent origination.
