And entity. Establishing names and characteristics, establishing the ultimate truth, establishing the conventional truth, one should know to fully examine them from the three doors. How to establish the proof? Initially, one should establish selflessness based on dependent origination. This is because all worldly phenomena arise from clinging to self, and it is established that without it, there is no arising. If the self truly exists in the ultimate sense, then clinging to self would also be ultimate wisdom. In that case, the world should not arise from it, and without it, there should be no arising. If it were so, it would become contradictory. Because all the arising of bondage in the world arises from clinging to self, and without clinging to self, there would be no arising. This is what is said, and it fully reveals this meaning. How to establish the answer to refutation? If selflessness is established, how does clinging to self arise? If someone argues like this, the answer is: clinging to self arises because of having a childish mind. Why? Because they think like this, that a childish mind is clinging to self. After that, even though selflessness is established, it shows by what means the world arises from clinging to self. Such is called being obscured by the haze of ignorance, and manifesting attachment to existence and non-existence. Such is the establishment of the answer to refutation. In that, mentioning manifesting attachment to ignorance, permanence, and annihilation is to clarify that ignorance and craving are the root of the limb of existence. Those who have entered the wrong path arising from improper attention, those who follow the wrong path, such as merit and non-merit, and unwavering formations, etc., mentioning improper attention here is to fully show the cause of ignorance. Entering the wrong path is going against liberation. Those who follow the wrong path are specifically referring to the meaning of bodhisattvas who have not realized, those who hold onto existence but are wrong.

It is not to be followed. The seeds of mind, which are tainted and completely possessed by those formations, along with attachment, are the nature of birth and old age in the next life, as well as the intermediate existence, arising and proceeding through manifestation and accomplishment. That is, the basis of the field of karma, and the darkness of ignorance, and moistened by the moisture of existence and the pride of "I", and the net of views becoming densely abundant, the sprout of name and form arises, and having arisen, it grows. After the sprout of name and form grows, the five faculties arise. After the five faculties arise, they gather together and become contact. After contact gathers, feeling arises. After feeling, attachment arises below it with manifest joy. Attachment causes grasping to increase. As grasping increases, existence arises. After existence arises, the five aggregates arise. After the five aggregates arise, they gradually fill the five destinies. After filling, they separate. After filling and separating, they are completely afflicted by epidemic diseases. From being completely afflicted by epidemic diseases, sorrow arises, as well as lamentation, suffering, discomfort, and all disturbances, yet there is no one who causes them to arise. They perish without nature and discrimination, yet there is no one who causes them to perish. Thus, in the manner of the Bodhisattva's conduct, one individually understands the principle of dependent origination. The seed of mind is contained by the nature of birth and old age, as well as the intermediate existence, and in order to approach this, one approaches it. Meritorious formations and the like are the field of karma. The aforementioned ignorance is the darkness of ignorance. Manifest desire for existence and non-existence is the moisture of existence. The thought of "I" that has thus transformed is pride. Will it arise? Will it not arise? Such thoughts and so on are the net of views. To perish without nature and discrimination means without self and the guidance of mind. Such is the answer to the refutation.
