It is the seventh in terms of the power to enter into samadhi, because it is said, "The thought of the mind of practice is attention." The two, lower birth and complete non-regression, are the eighth in terms of the power to prevent meditation, because it is said, "The thought of the mind of freedom is attention." Even if born there, it is the ninth in terms of the ability to be free from all afflictions, because it is said, "The thought of the mind of greatness is attention." In order to do the things of sentient beings, it should be known that the thought of the mind is the tenth in terms of the ability to cut off the continuity of existence, because it is said, "Greatness is the thought of the mind." There are three kinds of union with detachment from desire, namely, the union that protects from all afflictions, the union that completely protects from the lower vehicle, and the union that completely holds the means. Among them, the union that completely protects from all afflictions is the complete examination of all things that have become conditioned by impermanence and non-manifestation. In short, because the conditioned of life is the nature of non-abiding, it is completely understood as impermanent, because it is said, "O sons of the Victorious Ones, the Bodhisattva who abides on the third ground of the Bodhisattva, separately understands all things that have become conditioned as impermanent." After that, what is the nature of impermanence, and what is impermanence, is completely understood. Then, what is the nature of impermanence? By the power of the change of the state of the body, the nature of suffering has three aspects, because it is said, "It is suffering." By the power of the place of food, it becomes unpleasant in color, etc., because it is said, "It is unpleasant." By the power of not completely abandoning incompatible things, dying untimely, because it is said, "It is unreliable." Destruction by the power of the destruction of vessels, etc., because it is said, "It is destructive." By the power of the owner of enjoyments, etc., being uncertain, not dwelling with one, because it is said, "It is not long-dwelling." Impermanent.

What is that? That is of two kinds, the rapid time is because birth and cessation are momentary. Self-nature being completely established does not exist, in the past, future, and present times that occur, it does not occur, does not move, and cessation is because it does not occur at the end of the past, there is no movement at the end of the future, and it does not remain in the present but is individually understood. Thus, what becomes conditioned is impermanent, why should one rely on what becomes conditioned? Is it thought that there are some manifest things that can be relied upon? It is seen that not everything is to be relied upon manifestly, because that which becomes conditioned, like all of that, is not to be relied upon manifestly for the Dharma of truly understanding, as stated in the second part of the tenth chapter. That which is not to be relied upon manifestly is also to be known in nine ways, not showing that it has not become impermanent itself, because there is no place to pray. Becoming is because there is no companion, therefore because of becoming. Initially becoming suffering, accompanied by sorrow is because it is accompanied by sorrow. In the middle, accompanied by lamentation is because it is accompanied by uttering lamentations. When becoming small, accompanied by strife, merely following inferiority is because it is accompanied by strife. When seeking all enjoyments, thinking, 'It will become painful for me, it will not become non-painful,' the pain and non-pain of thorns are related because pain and non-pain are related. When fully enjoying, there is little happiness and much suffering because there is much suffering, unpleasantness, and strife. In the stage of the body aging, remaining in the previous stage such as childhood is because it has become without accumulation. In the stage of reaching youth, possessing three kinds of feelings, the fire of desire and so on blazes intensely because the fire of desire, hatred, and ignorance blazes intensely. In the stage of extreme aging, many diseases completely increase because of what.
