This is because it is said that in order to (attain) the (state) as vast as the Dharmadhatu. The great thing is because it is said that in order to (attain) the end of the realm of space. The great time is because it is said that in order to (attain) the end of the future. Thus accomplishing great aspirations. For example, in order to truly uphold the law of Dharma spoken by all Tathagatas, in order to truly and completely uphold the Bodhi of all Buddhas, in order to completely protect the teachings of all Samyak-sambuddhas. As vast as the Dharmadhatu, reaching the end of the realm of space, reaching the end of the future, in all the measured kalpas, in all the measured Buddhas' appearance in the world, one should uphold the uninterrupted holy Dharma, which is called the second (kind of vastness). Among them, the Dharma here should be understood as three kinds, namely, in order to truly uphold the law of the Tathagata, this refers to the Dharma of the scriptures, that is, the sutras and so on. Truly upholding it is for the sake of giving acceptance, holding, memorizing, and reciting. In order to truly and completely uphold the Bodhi of all Buddhas, this refers to the Dharma of attainment, that is, the three kinds of Bodhi. Truly and completely upholding it is for the sake of giving the key to be attained. In order to completely protect the teachings of all Samyak-sambuddhas, this refers to the Dharma of practice, that is, the Sangha. Completely protecting it is for the sake of protecting those who cause harm to those who have practice. The transmission of the Dharma refers to the transmission of the scriptures and so on from one to another. Tathagata is for the perfection of the teachings. Buddha and Samyak-sambuddha are for the perfection of realization and understanding, that is, for the sake of manifest understanding as all that exists and as it exists. Thus, in order to fully show the three perfections, three names are spoken. Here, Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas should also be known as Buddhas, thus accomplishing great aspirations. For example, all the Buddhas appear in all the infinite worlds without exception.
