Ka-ba-o. This is its subtlety. Why is it so difficult to touch? Like this, it is: Clear wisdom is realized by the wise, its nature is peaceful, not cessation, not arising. So it is said. Among them, clarity means that there is no ignorance towards the knowable, and knowledge with the habit of ignorance is unclear. Wisdom is realized by the wise, which means that they realize it with their own wisdom, because it arises depending on them. Among them, wisdom refers to those who see the truth. They are skilled in the Dharma and Vinaya, and they are the wise. Or others obtain it from there, and being skilled in terminology is the wise, it should be understood. Nature is peaceful means that nature has no afflictions, it does not mean that it had afflictions and later became without afflictions. Non-cessation means not only tending towards peace, because it has the view of benefiting sentient beings. Non-arising means completely liberated from samsara. Therefore, it should be understood that that wisdom transcends nirvana and does not remain in samsara. Therefore, it should be understood that it is difficult to touch due to the subtlety arising from the object, the subtlety arising from the place, the subtlety arising from purity, and the subtlety arising from merit. Among them, the first subtlety should be understood as not being common with worldly meditators. The second and third subtleties are not common with those who claim to be able to show the places of other heretics. It is not common with Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Therefore, the subtlety of this verse is a limb. The two kinds of subtlety are near limbs. When complete distinction is obtained through being very difficult to touch, subtlety is a limb. The remaining four should be understood as near limbs. So, what is the characteristic of subtle wisdom? Nature is empty, existent, non-dual, without characteristics, unknowable, liberated from actions, attaining equal nirvana, without beginning or end, beyond words, liberated from the three times, equal to space. So it is said. Among them, it should be understood that there are two kinds of characteristics of that wisdom, in general

is its own nature, as well as the non-common nature. So, what is the common nature of that wisdom's own nature? It is what is said, "Self-nature is empty," that is, empty of the nature of wisdom. How is that a common nature? That is, all dharmas are empty of self-nature as stated. Is the "self-nature is empty" shown to be understood as saying that it does not exist like a rabbit's horn? It is not said like that. Is it to be understood as saying that apart from emptiness, there is other wisdom, and even more emptiness than that? It is not said like that. Is it to be understood as saying that its own nature exists, and then it will change, and eventually be exhausted and cease? It is not said like that. Then what is it like? The nature of emptiness is non-existent and non-dual, and inexhaustible. In this way, for it, by completely abandoning the three kinds of untrue clinging, emptiness is completely shown, that is, abandoning the untrue clinging of slander, abandoning the untrue clinging of otherness, and abandoning the untrue clinging of change. "Whoever is completely peaceful, non-dual, and inexhaustible" is also said to be extremely peaceful as existing, because what does not exist will not become peaceful. How can what does not exist become peaceful? It makes the afflictions completely peaceful, this is its common nature. The non-common nature is its pure nature, which is complete liberation. That should also be understood in two ways, that is, from where and how to be completely liberated. From where and how to be completely liberated? It is what is said, "Liberated from going," it shows complete liberation from the afflictions with going, and all the afflictions of karma and birth. How to be completely liberated? It is what is said, "Equally attained cessation," because clinging to samsara and nirvana as equality, so it is not like the Shravakas who completely turn their backs on samsara. Is it that the beginning of the continuum of that wisdom completely exhausts the defilements? Or do the middle and the end completely exhaust the defilements? Know that it is not like that that exhausts the defilements. Then what is it like?
