They, with those, are able to overcome all disputants and the armies of Mara. How is this shown here? It is by the supreme group of the ten powers. What is the perfect retinue of the Buddhas? It is those gathered by the bodhisattvas and the seven assemblies of hearers. How is this shown here? It is by the immeasurable and vast sangha. That is the sangha of bodhisattvas and so forth. "Supreme" because it surpasses the world. "Immeasurable" because it is countless. What is the perfect lineage of the Buddhas? It is any perfect lineage. How is this shown here? It is by being born into the Shakya lineage. Why does the Bhagavan himself speak of lineage? It is because of manifestation, and because of this, he bestows blessings on the Dharma. "On the Dharma" means abiding in the Dharma. "Bestowing blessings" is a limb. That blessing should also be understood as twofold: the blessing of perfect place, because it is blessed by the Buddha. The blessing of perfect fruit, because the speaker of Dharma is the fruit. "The best of gods and humans" and so forth are limbs. The rest are near limbs. If so, how is the praise of that blessing known by the second verse? It is because those Dharma kings will reveal the treasury of Dharma that they are blessed. Here, the praise of that treasury of Dharma should also be understood as twofold: perfect meaning and perfect words. How is perfect meaning? It is because of speaking of any vast and excellent conduct. "Conduct" is the practice of the bodhisattvas, that is, any path and any accumulation. It is also excellent because it possesses ultimate wisdom. It is vast because it possesses the distinction of power. Thus, here, its profundity and vastness are also fully shown. Perfect words.

So, what is perfection like? Because it is said, "Opening the ground of wisdom," it is through these eleven ways of opening the ground of wisdom. From this verse, it is fully shown that the Buddha's power is used to teach the Dharma, which is to completely avoid the misconception that some people think that the Buddha himself has no power and seeks it externally. Having been urged to teach the Dharma in this way, if it is taught, then the benefits of others in the three times of past, present, and future are shown in three verses: the time of listening, the time of practice, and the time of rebirth. Among them, the time of listening is the blessing of the Buddha and the acceptance of the Bodhisattvas, which is actually thinking of oneself as the Buddha, which is the benefit. At the time of practice, the ten qualities are gradually perfected, and after perfection, the ten powers are obtained, thereby transforming oneself into the Buddha. At the time of rebirth, whether in the evil realms or the good realms, or in the world of dragons born without leisure, and in the realms of form such as the light of the long-lived gods, this Dharma can also be obtained. Do all those who hear this Dharma have the qualification to obtain these benefits? The answer is no. So what is it like? It is "becoming without doubt," that is, having faith in this definite Dharma. In this way, after urging and speaking of the benefits, for what is said, "Opening the ground of wisdom," from the sixth verse onwards, the teachings are given in three stages: the order of visualization, the order of realization, and the order of practice. The first, second, and fourth root verses have already shown. To speak in order is to combine everything. Among them, the boundary of the ground of wisdom is the ten grounds that are shown, that is, what is the goal, and what is relied upon, in order for wisdom to arise on those grounds. Entering is entering the ground. Abiding is until it has not been promoted to other times. Promotion is going to other grounds. Conduct is how to practice, that is, entering, abiding, promoting, and accomplishing those. The many causes of conduct itself are called the object of conduct.

English

What is the need for me to give this offering? It is to generate faith later, saying that everything spoken by the Buddha has been narrated. Then, the Bodhisattva Vajragarbha, having looked in the ten directions, spoke these verses in order to generate great faith in the retinue. "Subtle and difficult to know, the path of the great sage," and so on, was spoken. Why look in the ten directions? It is to show that oneself has no pride and no close protector. The statement that verses were spoken in order to generate great faith in the retinue is to create ease in experiencing the ground being taught. There, what is called faith is a clear mind, without turbidity. This is also to be understood as twofold: faith in the greatness of the meaning itself is faith in what meaning is to be attained. Faith in the greatness of the teaching itself is faith in what it is attained through. There, faith in the greatness of the meaning itself is to be understood through these five verses. What is the greatness of the meaning itself like? It is its depth. Therefore, in order to show that depth, it was said, "Subtle and difficult to know, the path of the great sage. Inconceivable, free from thought, extremely difficult to touch." For what reason was this spoken? It is the ground of wisdom. Like this, because it is relied upon itself, it is also said below that wisdom is to be manifestly accomplished. There, what is called subtle, what is it like? It is said, "Difficult to know, the path of the great sage." Like this, when explained, it is difficult to know, and it is also the path of the great sages, that is, the Buddhas, therefore it is subtle. The path is the cause, the cause of becoming the object of the great sage. Subtle is also to be understood as twofold: subtlety at the time of explanation, and subtlety at the time of attainment, in that order. Why is it difficult to know? Like this, it is said, "Inconceivable, free from thought." There, inconceivable is because it is not the object of conceptualization. Free from thought is because one does not conceptualize oneself. Because it has become the path of the great sage, why is it called subtle? Like this, it is extremely difficult to touch, extremely difficult to
