After realizing selflessness on the ground of the mind, one can hear this extremely subtle wisdom. Thus it is said. That which is called "like a vajra" is to make it as firm as a vajra. Firmness is of two kinds: firmness of faith and firmness of realization. It is indicated by three words. Among them, firmness is a limb, and the rest are near limbs. What is the faith in the supreme wisdom of the Buddha like? The enlightenment of the Buddha is limitless. With faith and belief, for sentient beings, the Tathagatas are, because the Dharma of the Tathagatas enters, the Buddha himself does not know with his own wisdom. What is the mind? Among them, how to realize selflessness? In the three realms, where the mind matures, and where the mind moves by focusing on all phenomena, that is the ground of the mind. In both of these situations, one truly realizes that both persons and phenomena are selfless as they are. That which is called extremely subtle is extremely difficult to realize. How subtle it is has been explained before. Now, it is explained by using an analogy: Just as painting colors in the sky, just as wind dwells in the expanse of the sky, so too, here, the uncontaminated wisdom of the Blessed Ones, even if separated, is difficult to see. Thus it is said. This indicates that, for example, painting a picture in the sky with colors is like on a wall, because it does not stay on it, it is not visible. For example, in the sky, like a leaf, because it does not stay on it, it is not visible due to the action of shaking. However, these two do not not occur in the sky. Similarly, for something that is like the sky and cannot be spoken of, painting and speech like wind are not visible because that is not its nature, because it arises suddenly, so it does not stay on it. However, there, it does not not occur. Thus, the wisdom of the Buddha is divided by the classification of speech, and even if divided, it is difficult to see. Among them, painting indicates the collection of names, words, and letters, because this is the occasion for explanation. The wind, the basis of sound, indicates words, and these two are what should be spoken and what should be heard.
