'Establishing' means, it means when the left knee is placed on the ground, it means when pressing the ground with the right hand, generating the thought that all sentient beings may abide on the path of the right direction. Similarly, it should be understood in the same way when the left hand and head touch the ground. From that dedication, it is said: By prostrating with my five limbs, may the five obscurations of all sentient beings be eliminated! May the five types of people become completely pure! May the five faculties become completely perfect! May they abide on the five paths! May they obtain the five unimpaired superknowledges! May those sentient beings born in the five realms be particularly superior in the five realms, particularly superior in morality, particularly superior in samadhi, particularly superior in wisdom, particularly superior in liberation, and particularly superior in the vision of the wisdom of liberation! May they be able to see the Buddha, hear the Dharma, and be accompanied by the Sangha! It is said like this. The offering of speech is also, while the body is prostrating, reciting the praises of the Three Jewels in song with whatever rituals are understood and prostrating. The offering of material goods has already been mentioned. The offering of confessing sins is like the 'Suvarnaprabhasa Sutra' or the 'Confession of Downfalls Sutra' or the 'Sutra of the Three Heaps' or the 'Cutting Off the Continuity of Karmic Obscurations,' and so on. Confessing sins is also an offering, as it is said in the sutra taught by the noble Inexhaustible Intellect: Confessing the sins of oneself and others also becomes merit. The offering of rejoicing is also an offering, as it appears in the sutra of the noble Moon Lamp. The manner in which exhortation and supplication become offerings, and the manner in which dedication becomes an offering, should also be examined in the sutra itself. There are two kinds of unsurpassed offerings: offerings with focus and offerings without focus. Among these, offerings with focus are as it is said in the sutra of the noble Ocean of Wisdom: Ocean of Wisdom, these three are the unsurpassed offerings and reverence to the Tathagata. What are the three? Generating the mind of enlightenment and

completely uphold the Dharma, and generate great compassion for all sentient beings. Similarly, in the "Noble Sutra of Gradual Proper Conduct," it is said: "The Bodhisattva who sees these four excellent benefits is making offerings to the Tathagata. What are the four? They are: developing faith in the supreme object of giving; repeatedly practicing oneself and also causing other sentient beings to make offerings; after making offerings to the Tathagata, the mind of Bodhichitta becomes stable; and after seeing the thirty-two marks of a great being, accumulating roots of virtue. These are the four." Making sentient beings happy is also the supreme offering to the Tathagata, as the Bhagavan said in the Sutra of the Vatsa River. Master Shantideva also said: "When beings are happy, the Conquerors are pleased; when beings are harmed, the Conquerors are displeased. By pleasing them, all the Conquerors are pleased; harming them is harming the Conquerors." Again, in the same text, it says: "To please the Tathagatas, from now on I will be a servant to the world. Even if people cut off my head and feet, or kill me, may the protector of the world be pleased! Those who possess compassion regard all these beings as their own, without any doubt. Are not all these forms appearing as sentient beings the protectors? Why not respect them here? Offering to the Tathagata is offering to them." Again, in the same text, it says: "The offering with a loving mind is the greatest of beings. The merit of faith in the Buddha is the greatest of Buddhas." As stated in the Compendium of Trainings. In the Bodhisattvacharyavatara, it is also said: "Except for making all sentient beings happy, is there any other way to please the Buddhas?" It is said. Moreover, this meaning is extensively explained in that text, so it should be consulted there. There are also extensive explanations in other sutras, so they should be consulted there. The offering without object is the meditation on the Prajnaparamita. Because in it there is no object to be offered to, no offerer, and no object of offering. This is also what is said in the Prajnaparamita Sutra: "Those who see me in form, those who seek me in sound, they
