Now, it will deceive the world, including the gods. Because in the Sutra on the Establishment of Mindfulness of the Sacred Dharma, it is said, "Thinking a little and not giving will lead to rebirth as a hungry ghost; promising and not giving will lead sentient beings to hell." What need is there to mention those who promise the supreme benefit for all beings but do not do it? Therefore, in the Sutra on the Perfect Collection of the Dharma, it is also said, "Son of good family, a Bodhisattva should make truthfulness his priority. Son of good family, speaking the truth correctly is speaking the Dharma correctly. Son of good family, what is truth? When a Bodhisattva generates the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, he does not abandon that mind even for the sake of his life, and he does not cause sentient beings to regress. This is the truth of a Bodhisattva. If a Bodhisattva generates the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, but later abandons that mind completely, and also causes sentient beings to regress, this is the ultimate false speech of a Bodhisattva." In the Sutra of Noble Manjushri's Ocean of Wisdom, it is also said, "Ocean of Wisdom, just as a king or a great minister invites all the people of a city, saying, 'Tomorrow I will give you food,' and then abandons them, not giving them food and drink, thereby deceiving all those assemblies. Those people, not having received food and drink, ridicule and then depart. Similarly, Ocean of Wisdom, if a Bodhisattva does not liberate those who are not liberated, does not free those who are not free, does not give breath to those who have not breathed, and does not cause those who have not completely passed into nirvana to completely pass into nirvana, but only gives breath to all sentient beings, and does not strive in much learning and other virtuous qualities of the aspects of enlightenment, then that Bodhisattva does not act according to what he has said, and deceives the world, including the gods. If the gods who have previously seen the Buddhas see such a thing, they will ridicule, mock, and reproach him, saying, 'Those lords of offerings who promised to make offerings but cause the offerings to fall into ruin are rare!' Ocean of Wisdom."

Therefore, a Bodhisattva should not utter words that would deceive the world, including gods, humans, and asuras. Furthermore, Ocean of Wisdom, if someone requests a Bodhisattva to teach the Dharma, and the Bodhisattva says, "I shall ensure that you fully attain this Dharma," the Bodhisattva should be willing to give up their body, but should not deceive sentient beings. Therefore, one should combine one's own strength and properly take up and protect even a single root of virtue. As it is said in the Sutra of the Essence of the Earth, "These ten paths of virtue lead to Buddhahood. If someone does not protect even a single path of virtuous action for as long as they live, but says, 'I am a follower of the Great Vehicle, I seek the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment,' that person is extremely hypocritical, a speaker of great falsehoods, deceiving the world in the presence of all the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and is said to be severing the connection. That person will die in delusion and go to a wrong destination." Therefore, one should properly take up and abide in virtue as much as one is able. This should be viewed in the Sutra of the Medicine Buddha, the King of Lapis Lazuli Light. When a great being hears such things, and understands the difficult practices of a Bodhisattva through wisdom, and is willing to take on the burden of saving all beings from suffering, they should perform prostrations and offerings, confess sins, rejoice in merit, urge the Buddhas to remain, request the turning of the wheel of Dharma, and dedicate to enlightenment. They should also pray to the virtuous friend, either repeating their words or saying themselves, "Teacher, please listen, my name is..." As it is said in the Sutra of the Adornment of the Buddha Land of Manjushri, the Bhagavan, the noble Manjushri, spoke of the realizations of past lives, and one should generate the mind of enlightenment in accordance with generating the mind of enlightenment in accordance with practice. He should this.
