Because it has not been seen, the demon can find an opportunity, like a fish caught by a cormorant. Thus it is said. Similarly, in the Sutra Requested by Arya Dpung-bzangs, it is also said: For example, in order to heal and remove wounds, medicine is given to the sick. Likewise, here also, in order to eliminate the suffering of hunger, the Victorious One said that food should be eaten. Some, when tired from walking on the road, eat the flesh of their own children, tormented by hunger and thirst. Likewise, a yogi with a weak mind should not eat for the sake of harming or fattening himself. If you pour in a lot, you will rise high without effort. Likewise, when there is little, the scale will be low. Likewise, when it is moderate, it will go equally in an instant. Embodied beings should eat food in this way. For example, in order not to destroy an old house, people erect good pillars. Likewise, in order for the body's mechanism to remain, food should be eaten like the axle of a chariot. The realm of desire abides by food, as the Victorious One declared in one Dharma. The body should be known like a water tree, and the mind should not be attached to food and drink. Thus it is said. Likewise, if the body is weak, then all yogis should not fast. As it is said in the Arya-ratna-siddhi: Because there is the fault of fatigue, fasting is said to be blameworthy. Thus it is said. If there is no fatigue in the body, then in order to lighten the body, all yogis should fast. As it is said in the Sutra Requested by Arya Dpung-bzangs: The Sugata never said that one should fast in order to purify the body of an only child. This body is impure, skin, flesh, blood, veins, bones, marrow, fat, intestines, liver, gallbladder, kidneys, bile, phlegm, semen, feces, urine, mucus, body hair, head hair, and bones, eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, the door of speech, genitals, and the nine openings, from the wounds flow various impure things, the stream of flowing always arises. Thus, all the limbs are assembled, and are endowed with earth, water, fire, wind, and space. As appropriate, the body follows karma, abiding in the form that possesses all. Excrement, urine, saliva, and phlegm, it is said that one should fast in order to exhaust these. After the impurities are exhausted, the human body

Again, one should engage in practice comfortably for one's own benefit. So it is said. One should rely on someone who is either without friends or who is compliant. As the Blessed One said in such and such sutras: Many will quarrel, two will have words, like a young girl's bracelet, one should remain alone. So it is said. Compliance is spoken of in the Questions of the Noble Viradatta: Just as a chariot with one wheel, even with a horse, does not go on the road, so a practitioner, if without a friend, embodied beings will not attain accomplishment. Therefore, one who is intelligent, handsome, with great purity, of noble lineage and devoted to the Dharma, courageous, brave, with subdued senses, speaks sweetly, is generous, compassionate, endures hunger, thirst, and afflictions, does not worship Brahmins or other gods, is clever, grateful, and has faith in the Three Jewels is a friend. Since those who possess all such qualities are very rare in times of strife, the mantra practitioner should rely on someone who possesses half, a quarter, or an eighth of these qualities as a friend. So it is said. Here, in order to cut off elaboration, and because of being free from elaboration, one should be without a friend or have a compliant friend. Likewise, one should not rely on clothing that causes harm, or on clothing and dwellings that are gathered and particularly attached to. As it is said in the Questions of the Noble Viradatta: Having put up a topknot and shaved the hair, change the color of the clothes with the color of the source. One should wear white clothes or leaves or grass, or wear rough bark. So it is said. Also, in the Holy Accomplishment it says: A mantra reciter, a wise householder, should not wear clothes of changed color. So it is said. These are for the sake of being easy to obtain and for the sake of forbidding arrogance. There are three compliant behaviors: abiding well, enduring suffering, and going especially. Among them, abiding well is that no matter what kind of behavior one abides in, it does not harm the mind, as it is said in the Noble Tree Arrangement: Bodhicitta deteriorates
