It is said that all actions that create the root of evil are the work of demons. In the Bodhisattvacharyavatara, it is also said, "What is the use of many ascetic practices, except for the asceticism of guarding the mind?" And again, it says, "I give up gain and respect, body and life, and other virtues, but my mind will never give up." Thus it is taught. Therefore, at all times and in all circumstances, one should practice conduct that does not harm the mind. Therefore, the teacher Dombipa said, "Study, study, practice, even a Brahmin is pure. Always practice pure conduct, not conduct that harms the mind." It is said. Subduing suffering is to take the path to mind, and one should not be moved by all sufferings such as cold and heat, hunger and thirst. As it is said in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara, "Fishermen, outcastes, farmers, etc., even if they only think of their own livelihood, can endure harm such as cold and heat, why can't I endure it for the benefit of beings?" Similarly, in the Arya-Surangama-samadhi Sutra, it is also said, "Do not be attached to desire, endure afflictions with the body." Similarly, in the Sutra of the Supreme Conqueror of the Three Realms, it is also said, "By practicing the afflictions of the body, one will attain the three siddhis." It is said. Similarly, in the Guhyasamaja Tantra, it is also said, "With great desire, with great suffering, pacify one's own suffering." It is said. One should accept suffering and its fruits with great joy, and not maintain the original state of mind. Therefore, in the Arya-Surangama-samadhi Sutra, it is said, "The happiness and wealth of the gods, life and strength, perfect form, great learning, beautiful radiance, single-mindedness, and great power, all are obtained by the power of asceticism." In particular, if one cannot remain equally in the practice of conduct, then reading the Prajnaparamita, making tsatsas, circumambulating, etc., should be respectfully regarded as accumulating merit. Thus, in the Six-Faced King Tantra of the Wrathful Lord, it is said, "Rise up, Bhagavan

The mother of. Read the Prajnaparamita. Thus it is said. It is also said in the request of the noble Power of Arms: In pure and secluded places, Made of clay or sand, The stupa of the Sugata, which has the heart of dependent arising, Should always be erected to purify sins. Thus it is said. Similarly, in the detailed ritual of the Noble One Victorious over the Three Worlds, it is also said: The wise should build stupas, Likewise, the sacred Dharma should also be read. After accumulating a little other virtue, Those who wish to attain the supreme accomplishment Should always dedicate it to sentient beings. Thus it is said. Therefore, as much as possible, with the intention of benefiting sentient beings, one should begin with great respect for the accumulation of merit and wisdom that does not harm the mind, and all distractions. This is the three kinds of conforming conduct. Having obtained the accumulation in this way, one should abide comfortably in any of the four postures, And place the mind equally in yoga with or without signs. Having placed the mind equally in this way, in order to abandon the five faults, one should rely on the eight antidotal efforts. The five faults are mentioned in the Madhyantavibhaga-karika: Laziness and instructions, Forgetfulness, sinking and excitement, Non-application and application, These are considered the five faults. Thus it is said. Their antidotes, the eight efforts of abandonment, are also mentioned in the same text: The place and abiding therein, The cause and the result itself, Not forgetting the object, The distinction between sinking and excitement, The manifest effort to abandon them, And entering into reality when pacified. Thus it is said. Having thus perfected the limbs, one should meditate on shamatha and vipassana. Here, there are two types of shamatha: That which is obtained by looking inward, and that which focuses on looking outward. Among these, there are also two types of looking inward: Focusing on the body, and focusing on what depends on the body. Among these, there are also three types of focusing on the body: Focusing on the body itself as the form of a deity, Focusing on the impure form of a skeleton, etc., And focusing on special signs such as khatvanga. There are also five types of focusing on what depends on the body: Focusing on the breath.
