The Chapter Called "Collection of Samādhi". Auspicious Bodhi. The Chapter Called "Collection of Samādhi". Auspicious Bodhi. In Sanskrit: Samādhisambhāraparivartanāma. In Tibetan: The Chapter Called "Collection of Samādhi". Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! As long as there is existence, I pay homage to the Sage and his retinue. Following the Sutras of Secret Mantras and Perfections, I will speak of the chapter on the collection of Samādhi. Today, most beings are caught by the hook of demons and imprisoned in the tight prison of home. The four guardians of the demon's world protect with laws, and the bonds of desire and so on are tightly bound. Even those who strive for discipline are mostly under the control of the four guardians of the demon's world, abandoning the place and conduct of monks, behaving like householders, heading towards the precipice of evil destinies, abandoning the appearance of higher realms. Therefore, this is done for the sake of my own remembrance, and there is no expectation of benefiting others. However, if there are those who share the same fortune as me and are happy in this place, then listen to this speech with correct understanding. Among them, the limbs of the collection of Samādhi are ninefold, namely: what should be abandoned, what precedes, what should be turned away from, cutting off suffering, what should cause aversion, remembering qualities, what should be strived for, what should be connected with, and the means of abiding. Among them, what should be abandoned is the work of demons. Among them, what is a demon? What is its work? A demon is called the evil god of desire, who has a wife with a lotus garland, and the four guardians of the retinue, and the pretas of the demon's lineage. Their work is that the god of desire and his wife have five flower arrows on their heads, namely: that which makes one arrogant, that which makes one ignorant, that which makes all ignorant, that which makes one faint, and that which makes one mindless. Wherever that flower arrow strikes, whichever of the five afflictions is heavier, then that one is struck by it and blazes up, being controlled by it, and declines from liberation and higher states. The four guardians of the world are as follows:
