Thus it has been accomplished. Since the entities of cause and effect are well established in conventional truth, there is no need to analyze how they are established. Those who use terms should grasp the meaning of things as they are known. Those who desire liberation should examine carefully. What does not exist in ultimate truth does not exist in conventional truth either. Those things that have become nonexistent, like the horns of a horse, are examples. If things do not exist in reality, do they not exist in conventional truth either? To say so is not reasonable. If a real thing ceases to exist, then a conventional thing will also cease to exist. There is no connection between them. Because truth and falsehood are contradictory, they cannot have the same nature. Therefore, falsehood cannot arise from truth. In illusions and the like, the nature of truth is abandoned. If this were not the case, how could they exist as falsehoods? The very nature of ultimate truth, the abandonment of nature, is considered to be the nature of conventional things. How can it be that if one does not exist, the other does not exist? If something exists in ultimate truth, and that conventional thing does not exist, then everyone will see it clearly, and conventional truth will be destroyed. Anything that does not arise even in conventional truth, such as a rabbit's horn, is only because there is no collection of such things as earth. If there is no collection of causes, then illusion will not arise either. If that exists, then the nature of the thing that arises is conventional truth. If the nature of things is in accordance with non-existence, how can it sometimes happen that some things arise? Why is it not always the case that nothing arises? If eyes disturbed by cataracts see falsehood in similar things, what is the definite reason why hairs and other things appear separately? Even if cataracts are the cause, how does that become falsehood? You do not want causes to exist for things that do not exist. If you say that there is a definite cause for false things such as sounds, why do you not say the same for conventional things? If you assert that things without causes do not arise, then at that time, if that is the case, it becomes an overextension. Why is everything...
