When desiring to generate (understanding), At that time, aren't the examples of valid reasoning well-combined? When one ascertains that for oneself, There was no prior acceptance of a philosophical position. Likewise, if others make that assumption, How can they rely on scripture? Even in conventional terms, such as the subject of debate, If nothing is established for anyone, Then it is reasonable to apply the argument of an unestablished subject of debate. Even if the meaning to be proven is established by an unmistaken reason, It is still necessary to accept a philosophical position. The statement that it is not established is a very large doctrine. Therefore, the wise do not act by relying on the subject of debate that is established from a philosophical position. Such an aspect is Because it is not mutually established for all. Therefore, there is a reason with an unestablished basis, And likewise, there is no subsequent concomitance of what is to be proven. That opponent and counter-opponent, Will occur to both of them. The subject of debate, such as sound, is said by the Sugata to be produced from the elements, etc. Just as they wish, so too, the Samkhyas and others do not wish that. Therefore, from the distinct subject of debate generated by the scriptures, From the fame up to the cowherds, Relying on valid cognition and so forth, All the wise who wish to realize correctly say that. Likewise, on the commonly known forms, sounds, and tastes of myself, Just like the commonly known worldly ones, With the reasoning that makes discrimination, In order to enter the ultimate truth, One expands correct thought. Therefore, relying on the subjects of debate established from philosophical positions, The basis is not established, and so forth, The opponent

When refuting self-nature and other views, momentary sound and so on are the cause, spoken with the correct reasoning that understands rationality. Merely refuting, for the self-nature, the cause and so on are established there. On the subject that is not truly self-existent, there is no obstacle to fulfilling the wish. Similarly, for all things such as illusions, children and others, with respect to things themselves, who is not skilled at making false distinctions? In order to make them understand correctly, wise people, in conventional terms, for things such as cause and effect, in order to prevent universal existence, and to prevent abilities and so on, establish things themselves and so on. If it were not like that, how would others refute the permanent phenomena and other things that are conjectured? Temporarily existing things cannot be refuted by valid cognition. Therefore, even if not refuted, the continuation of speech will be interrupted. Neither one nor many, extremely small external dust particles and so on, how to refute the meaning of external objects, please tell. Not momentary, but existing, sequence and non-sequence are contradictory. From the path of preventing abilities, refuting the permanent phenomena conjectured by heretical views, and when refuting qualities and so on, there is the fault of the basis not being established. Because it is establishing the fault itself, if this does not appear here, if there is no valid cognition, then the term "non-existent" will not appear here. If fault is also valid cognition, then why would this not appear as a fault here? With the power of self-assertion, forever, it is not reasonable. Or, for those four, having wisdom itself is the subject. If by external and primary things and so on, the arising there is prevented, if that is the case, in order to refute that, the emptiness of ability and, being separated from one and many and so on, how is valid cognition established in that way? When the cause itself is not established, on that, what is to be established will not be established. Even if established, similarly wisdom itself will not become without self-nature. For the separately conjectured prevention and so on, if everything is conjectured as the agent, how should wisdom be conjectured as the subject? If by external and primary things and so on, the arising there is prevented, how can the emptiness of external objects and so on become one? Or, from beginningless time, arising from its own seed, the end of conceptual thought.
