Otherwise, it would become contradictory. The so-called "contradiction" and so on are answers: Which knowledge arising from cultivation speaks of the state of the unconditioned dharma that is known by that knowledge? This is the meaning of combining words. The so-called "those" refers to the unconditioned dharmas. Because they are object and subject, etc., this is an answer made to eliminate the other party's doubts. The other party's idea is, which ones would cause the loss of identity, just like reeds and trees, not admitting the sequential knowledge and the connection between them, but rather object and subject. Object and subject themselves do not contradict identity at all, because in the ultimate truth, they only exist as objects and do not touch the self-nature of knowledge at all. The other party believes that the object will not inevitably become the nature of the cause. The so-called "will not change" and so on are answers. There are two views on this: Sometimes, does the self-nature known by the previous consciousness, etc., also follow when the later consciousness, etc., arises? Or does it not follow? If it follows, then at this time, the previous consciousness, etc., will become the same time, because consciousness, etc., will follow the self-nature of what is known. The argument is: When, which consciousness follows the self-nature of what is known, then at this time, it is the self-nature that follows that consciousness. For example, when one's own consciousness arises, it is like that unconditioned dharma. The unconditioned dharma admitted by the other party, the self-nature known by the previous consciousness and the later consciousness also always follows, which is called the nature cause. The so-called "if it is not like this" and so on is to completely eliminate the uncertainty of this reason. If there is no consciousness, then the self-nature of the object of knowledge of consciousness itself is unreasonable, because it would be too excessive. Therefore, it would be admitted that there is a mutual contradiction between existence and non-existence at the same time on one thing, so it is not uncertainty. Two views

Moreover, the earth element is also momentary, just like consciousness, because it arises from its own nature and other natures, and because the former and former ones also perish. If someone doubts, saying that this is because the objects known by the former and later consciousness, etc., then, if that is the case, it will be shown by "the places of the former and later," etc. Meditation itself is not inferior, but for those who have opened the eye of wisdom through it, these words are combined in this way. The so-called "not existing at other times" is a synonym for "existing occasionally." And "that also" means the unconditioned itself. The so-called "will not transcend" means that because the order of objects pervades the order of subjects, the order of subjects is caused by the objects, so it shows pervasiveness. Therefore, it is not permissible to show it as unconditioned merely because it is made by causes and conditions, because the former and former moments create the latter and latter moments. If it is not like that, the moments will become without cause. Therefore, occasional existence is also unreasonable, because there is no difference between the two times of existence and non-existence. All these are just spoken by me presumptuously, etc., which shows other refutations as well. In short, whatever does not become the nature of the subject and is devoid of function, such a thing cannot be included in the category of the subject, because things devoid of function can only be abandoned by those with conceptual minds. Through this, those who assert arguments such as impermanence, etc., should also understand that these arguments are uncertain, because those with conceptual minds want to state the definition of existence that can realize function as the reason for inference. Such an existence also cannot be shown separately from non-existent things, because non-existent things are characterized only by the lack of all abilities. Presumptuousness refers to the pride of thinking "I am." The so-called "otherwise" means that if you do not want to study the object that can realize function, then the meaning of function
