It is only mind, there is no meaning. When meditating like this, one should completely abandon attachment to meaning. Moreover, having completely abandoned it, if there is no grasping, then that also does not exist. Meditating like this, the characteristic of grasping, is only mind-only. That should also be completely abandoned, and one should abide in the awareness of non-appearance. That awareness should also be meditated upon with the nature of one, etc., transcending duality, and entering into the realm of non-appearance. Abiding in that is entering the Mahayana, this is what is taught. If in that state, what is the yoga? And with what does one observe? Ultimately, there is nothing to observe, and there is no yogi. But in conventional truth, just as one points to "Devadatta, look, listen," etc., the yogi is also similar to that, there is no fault. If the yogi's awareness transforms dualistic awareness into non-appearance, then by what is that non-appearance itself comprehended? For the time being, it is not by itself, because it is contradictory for oneself to act upon oneself. Nor is it by others, because that would lead to infinite faults. This is not a fault, just as one experiences the state of non-duality and non-appearance through self-cognizance, and then distinguishes it through subsequent wisdom, and it is not contradictory for oneself not to act upon oneself, so too is selflessness. Self-cognizance can be established even in cowherds, etc., therefore it should not be challenged. Nor is it infinite, because both awarenesses make everything their object, just as those who speak of 'maker' say, everything is the same. The characteristic entry of yogis in that state, because there is nothing else to observe, is spontaneously accomplished. Because all elaboration is pacified, it is peaceful. Purified by aspirations, this is because one aspires with great compassion for the benefit of all beings, and also because one knows selflessness, one will follow as long as samsara is not empty. Thinking, what is that? It is said "supreme wisdom," etc., from that state, duality

Seeing the pure wisdom of realization, other wisdom without appearance in it, that is, selflessness, that is, seeing emptiness, this is the concluding statement. Also, this sentence comes from the Sutra of the Descent into Lanka. The cause and condition of the external environment, the nature of the five kinds of causes, and the nature of the master, the cause and effect are reversed, and dwelling in the mind-only, this is the principle of mind-only, which is one of non-birth. This is to show the non-birth of the Madhyamaka school. Speaking of "no external objects", it is connected to the meaning of "I say that the self-nature of all external objects is non-existent". "The mind is not fully taken", which is connected to the meaning of "I say that the mind-nature of all dharmas is also non-existent". Why is this? Because all views are abandoned, so all views on things and so on can be abandoned. Therefore, the nature of non-birth of things is like this. What is said here is the saying of the Mind-Only School in the conventional truth. Speaking of "only knowing that it comes from the Sutra of the Descent into Lanka", it means that there is only consciousness. If so, how did the Blessed One speak of the four great elements, and based on the four great elements, etc.? Therefore, the Holy Nagarjuna Bodhisattva once said two verses: "Speaking of the great elements, etc.". The great elements, etc., spoken by the Blessed One are all truly contained in consciousness, because only on the individual manifestations of them can they be established. If this is the case, whether it is the self-nature of consciousness or the self-nature of the external environment, the four great elements exist in the ultimate truth in all cases. In response to this, speaking of "he knows it", is a concluding statement, meaning: because it does not appear in true wisdom, it is a reversed distinction. The "he" in this is knowledge itself. "Isn't it" is a rhetorical question. This comes from the Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning. Two ways, that is, the Middle

It is called the Mother Tantra and the Yogic Practice. Because reason is like a thin pancake, it is a thin pancake, a term that means it is like the reins for steering a horse. Those who have the Great Vehicle, as explained, summarized by two methods, are Great Vehicle practitioners, therefore the name is as it is in meaning. Why is it that only what is summarized by two methods is the Great Vehicle, and not others? Thinking this, it is said, "These." The five dharmas are name, meaning, conceptualization, suchness, and correct knowledge. Among these, name is what exists expressed within the general sound. Meaning is the aspect of the apprehended and the apprehender. Conceptualization is the nature of other-powered. Suchness is non-duality, that the nature of other-powered itself is the very nature of being separate from duality, that is the definition. Correct knowledge is the non-conceptual wisdom that transcends the world. Nature is the three natures, namely the thoroughly imputed, the other-powered, and the thoroughly established. The eight consciousnesses are the six entering consciousnesses, such as eye consciousness, the afflicted mind, and the storehouse consciousness. The two selflessnesses are the selflessness of persons and the selflessness of phenomena. "These two methods" refers to the method of Mind-Only and the method of the Middle Way. All-Pervading is Brahma. Ugly Eye is Ishvara. The term "etc." includes Samkhya and so on. For example, this shows the Mind-Only method explained by All-Pervading. "Mind-Only" means that it is to be dependent on the term "self." Those secret speakers believe that for all sentient beings, there is a nature of consciousness pervading all beings, a single, permanent, and only self. Always completely pure because it and its nature are completely pure. Buddha because it is separated from the sleep of ignorance. Liberation because there are no bonds of desire and so on. All of this is ultimate truth. Ignorance and desire and so on are adventitious.
