Some say that aggregates come as permanent substances. Some say that only the aggregates, such as form, transmigrate. Others say that only external causes and conditions are the transmigrators. Others say that particles transmigrate. Others say that these various things belong to the principal. Some think that the agent of everything is only Īśvara. All these well-spoken statements are discriminations made only by Mind-Only proponents, but in reality, there are no persons, etc., this is what is to be explained. If someone wonders how all this is established, then "external object appearance" etc. are mentioned. The word "object" can refer to both form etc. and persons etc. "Is false" is a synonym for "false object." Association refers to whatever has the aspect of mind and object, that is the false object, like dreams etc. This mind, which is considered the basis of dispute for the appearance of external objects itself, also has the aspect of object, and is an extension of the nature-reason. If someone wonders what is the damaging valid cognition for this, then "not having object" is mentioned, because if analyzed with the nature of one and many, the object does not remain, therefore it is established as meaningless, which is the damaging valid cognition. Is the object related to the external object not established as only direct perception? If it does not exist, then how would the commitment not become contradictory? Therefore, "it is only mind" is mentioned, which shows that this system is the antidote to the previously mentioned manifest clinging to wrong views. Therefore, wise people rely on this method etc., this is merely a distinction of "that is good." However, etc. explains the remaining part of the verse, if it is indeed true, then the aspect and the consciousness would, as before, mutually abide in nature, which is easy to understand. Motion and non-motion etc., means for those that appear as moving and non-moving.

If it is not so, the meaning of "if it is not so" is that the nature appearing as movement and so on, if it is not only one, is a synonym for "if it is not so." The meaning of "this fault" is that appearing as movement and so on as one aspect will become a fault. "Certainly will become different" is the remainder of the phrase "knowledge and aspect, the two." Some say, "Certainly it will become just that," where "just that" refers only to tending towards difference, because above it says, "Undoubtedly it will become manifold," there it is only the case of difference. "Which ones" refers to only some Yogācāras, because fearing that it will become the fault of refuting what was said, they say that many consciousnesses of different kinds also arise simultaneously. According to their view, because they do not admit that one thing is of multiple natures, they do not fall into the fault of refuting what was said, but because there are other faults, they spoke of those debaters' "which ones" and so on. Thinking about what scripture it is, they said, "Which one without before and after produces two minds, this is not a place." "Not a place" means impossible. The explanation of that itself is that there is no opportunity. "Without before and after" is a synonym for "simultaneously," and the contradiction here is this. "Similarly" also shows the second contradiction with scripture. "If it is thought that it is spoken from the perspective of the Vipāka-vijñāna, therefore it is said that way" is to welcome the doubt of the other party establishing the tenet of scripture. "Vipāka-vijñāna" is the Ālayavijñāna, and the Ālayavijñāna arises only as one. Multiple do not arise simultaneously, therefore, this is spoken by the Bhagavan from the perspective of the Ālayavijñāna, and not from the perspective of the entering consciousness, so it is famous. This explanation also contradicts the explanation of the previous teachers, and because the Vipāka-vijñāna also appears as body, enjoyment, and place, it is manifold, therefore it is unavoidable that it will become the fault of multiple, it is only the arising of fault. After thinking like this, if that is so, then this...
