It is so. The meaning of practice is to practice correctly, not just in words. The meaning of medicine is a treatise on healing diseases. This is a difficult explanation of the fifth chapter of Entering the Bodhisattva's Way of Life. Above, after explaining generosity without a fixed order, the text teaches ethics and then teaches patience. Therefore, it mentions eons and so on. Generosity has been mentioned before. Offering is to offer to the Sugatas and others, with refuge as the preliminary. Practicing well is ethics. "All of that" refers to what was just mentioned. Anger is hatred towards sentient beings. It destroys oneself and others, so it is hatred. It is also said: Manjushri, what is called anger destroys the merit accumulated over hundreds and thousands of eons, making it fruitless. Thus, anger is the cause of great sin, so it should be abandoned and patience should be cultivated. To show this, it says "like anger" and so on. Anger is just a brief mention, so anger and so on should also be included. "To be cultivated" means the method. To show that when one sees the faults of anger, one can experience it personally, it speaks of three verses such as "anger is like a thorn." "Peaceful mind" means a very peaceful mind. Joy is happiness itself. "Cannot be obtained" is because the fire of anger is burning. "Unstable" means becoming unstable. Furthermore, wealth and respect are wealth and respect themselves. "Possessing hatred" means making one unhappy. "He with friends" and so on are easy to understand. Why is that? Because they generate all suffering, they are regarded as enemies. Whoever extinguishes anger is completely happy, and nothing else. To extinguish anger, wanting to examine its cause, it says "unwanted" and so on. "Unwanted" means not clearly desired. "Uncomfortable mind" means disturbed, it is food that makes one stiff, and after getting that food, one can be satisfied, so it is also food. "To be destroyed" means to be removed. "Harmful" means to the virtuous.

is subduing. How to think about subduing its food? It is said, "Whatever is encountered," joy is inner happiness. Not disturbing is not abandoning. If it is incurable, etc., it is said that therefore one should strive to become accustomed to suffering. If one thinks, for what should one strive to become accustomed? It is said, "I or," for me and my friends, whatever suffering, that is, arising from body and speech, and contempt, that is, the so-called evil, and harsh words, that is, words that hit the mark, and unpleasantness, that is, non-fame, non-speech, these are unwanted, that is, not desired. For enemies, it is the opposite, that is, all these are desired. If anything unaccustomed is equally to be accustomed to, then why not become accustomed to happiness? It is said, "The cause of happiness is," because the cause of happiness is occasional, rare, so it is impossible to become accustomed to it, but the cause of suffering is very numerous, so it is impossible to eliminate it. If even if it is rare, it should be desired, so only the cause of happiness is worth becoming accustomed to? It is said, "Without suffering, then," without suffering, there will be no liberation, that is, no liberation from samsara. Therefore, mind, you should be steadfast in becoming accustomed to suffering, do not become accustomed to the previous state. Furthermore, this suffering is for accomplishing great things, so it should only be endured, using the metaphor to explain "difficult to endure," for example, in the land of Karnata, people who believe in Chandi, during the great religious festivals, after fasting for three days or one day, deliberately designate and cut off their own limbs, etc. Similarly, just for the sake of competition, they will abandon their lives for each other. Therefore, even great suffering should be endured. If one thinks, what are the small sufferings? It is said, "Snakes and," meaninglessness is the characteristic mentioned earlier. Similarly, in order to show that these should also be accustomed to, it is said, "Heat and cold," etc., the word also includes the afflictions on the path. They closely abide
