It is said, "It is so." In order to show the characteristics of the six perfections, "emptiness" and so on are spoken. This is to explain the characteristics from the perspective of the fruit of the previously shown generosity perfection, because if it exists, things are empty. The characteristic of morality is freedom from suffering, which is also from the perspective of the fruit, because the previously shown perfection with the characteristic of morality leads to rebirth in good realms, so there is no suffering in bad realms. Patience is the characteristic of being without anger, meaning that patience is the characteristic of being without anger. The characteristic of diligence is the absence of fault, meaning that diligence is the characteristic of completely upholding virtue, so there is no fault, that is, no sin. Meditation has the characteristic of gathering, meaning that through meditation, one cultivates virtuous dharmas such as the aspects of enlightenment. Wisdom is the characteristic of non-attachment, meaning that it has no attachment to anything. In order to show the conclusion, "the six perfections" and so on are spoken. In order to show the characteristics of the four meditations and so on, "meditation" and so on are spoken. It is said that non-distraction is the characteristic, which is to show the characteristic from the perspective of the cause, therefore, it is said, "Because they have abandoned anger." "They" refers to meditation and so on. Definite emergence is the self-nature, meaning that it is the cause of emerging from samsara. Meditation and so on have been said before, meditation, immeasurable, formless and so on have been said in the third generation of mind. The thirty-seven dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment have been shown in the fourth generation of mind. In order to show the characteristics of the three doors of liberation, such as emptiness, "the characteristic of emptiness" and so on are spoken. The characteristic of emptiness, completely serene without an object, means that because there is no object, there is no conceptualization of the cause of things.

Raro! The absence of all discriminations is the characteristic of emptiness. The absence of characteristics is peace itself. This means that the mind is without transformation because it does not fixate on characteristics such as the aspects of enlightenment. The third characteristic, the absence of suffering and ignorance, means the absence of suffering and ignorance, because a desireless samadhi arises through the gateway of wisdom. In order to show this through commentary, the gateway of liberation, etc., is spoken. 'Rightly observing those conditioned things that are of the nature of suffering' means that in conventional truth, one observes all conditioned things as being of the nature of suffering through the three sufferings, such as the suffering of suffering. 'When one observes the nature of conditioned things through wisdom' means when one observes all conditioned things as being without nature through the power of wisdom. In order to show the characteristics of the eight liberations, 'Of the liberations,' etc., is spoken. Since one becomes liberated from the obscurations of these, the characteristic of the liberations is that they liberate. Since the liberations have not been spoken of before, in order to show the eight liberations, 'The eight liberations are,' etc., is spoken. Among these, the first two liberations are because they are free from the obscuration of transformation. The third is because it liberates from the obscuration of the afflictions of transformation. The fourth liberation, the formless one, is because it liberates from savoring. Among these, savoring is 'This is the fourth. This is excellent,' etc. One becomes liberated from this. Therefore, one should be called pure. The eighth is because it liberates from the obscuration of the cessation of perception and feeling. Among these, the first seven are of the nature of samadhi, and the eighth is of the nature of the cessation of mind and mental factors. The objects of these samadhis should be known by following their names. The eighth has no object, because it is of the nature of the cessation of mind and mental factors. These are summarized as three paths.
