Rabsdu na. In this treatise, the profound qualities of the Buddha, namely the nature of reality, and the vast qualities, are clearly revealed. Among them, the profound is emptiness, and the other qualities are vast. By understanding the way of the profound and the vast, one will attain these qualities. Now, the emanation body appears for the common benefit and common method of all Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas, and also appears appropriately for the benefit of individual beings. Having made the determination that it will certainly and spontaneously accomplish the means to achieve happiness and so forth, it is explained. Again, you who possess the immovable body, having come to the three realms, the emanations demonstrate passing away, birth, enlightenment, and the wheel of peace. Thus, with compassion, you lead each and every deceitful being in the world, all those bound by many, to nirvana. Although the Bhagavan has transcended the three realms, the emanation bodies still show connections with fathers, mothers, sons, and so on, and conform to the world. Having descended into the three realms, he leads beings with various dispositions and behaviors to nirvana through the gate of entering the Dharma that is appropriate. It is not because of compassion, that is, seeking fame and reciprocation, and so on. Therefore, having established the form of the Tathagata in this way, it is explained that teaching the three vehicles within the one vehicle is intentional. Because, from knowing this very nature, it eliminates all defilements, it is the sole accomplisher, and the differentiation of the transformations of the nature of reality does not depend on anything else. This wisdom that has the nature of reality as its object is also not different or changing. Therefore, you have taught beings the unequal and undifferentiated vehicle. Whoever does not understand the nature of reality cannot completely abandon all afflictions, and it has already been taught that the nature of reality, which exists in all things, is unborn and without difference. Although perceptions are different, there is no distinction in it, therefore this suchness is unchanging. Since there is no distinction or change, the wisdom that has suchness as its object is also of one nature.

If it is the case that the nature of wisdom is non-dual, then wisdom will not realize suchness, because it has not realized how the nature exists. Because thus suchness is one, and suchness and the subject-wisdom are not different, therefore there is only one vehicle, not three vehicles. As it appears in the Light Protector Sutra: "If one realizes all dharmas as equality, it is nirvana, and that is also one, not two or three." The term "Mahayana," the "great" refers to the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, because they have abandoned all ignorance and possess wisdom free from obscurations. Their vehicle is the Mahayana, because it is like preṣodara, etc., therefore the letter ta becomes a. Or, the vehicle is also that, and the great is also that, so it is the Mahayana, because those who possess inconceivable Buddha-wisdom abide therein, or because it is the object of endless distinctions of things, or because it has abandoned all unknowing, so the vehicle is also that, and the great is also that, so it is the Mahayana. If nirvana is only one, then how do the vehicles of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas also show complete nirvana? These teachings are explained as having a hidden meaning. Because beings have these five degenerations that cause faults, therefore the world will not enter the profound realm of the Buddhas. Sugata, because you possess wisdom, compassion, and skillful means, and because you have promised to liberate my beings. Since body and mind prove to be incapable, therefore the five degenerations are shown: the degenerations of beings, time, afflictions, views, and life. Because the afflictions are the main cause of entering, they especially destroy the excellent aspiration. Likewise, they also prevent the desire for the unsurpassed wisdom of the Tathagata. Therefore, the world will not enter the deep and unfathomable wisdom of the Buddha, and the Bhagavan also to beings
